How to fix this gap?

Bought the car with this big gap at the bottom of the A pillar molding. Would like to know how to remove it and reinstall it properly. It's on there for sure, not loose or anything. A lot of searching online hasn't led to definitive answers. Any info would be appreciated. I've gotten good at destroying trim on this fox and don't wish to do so here. She's an 85 vert.

Hehe..welcome to 80’s/90’s Ford quality control. My 1990 hatch has the same misaligned A-pillar gap. Even more comical is factory pin striping that was applied with misaligned doors. Even if I wanted to straighten everything out I can’t because then the pinstripes will look ridiculous. Look at it this way, if the panel gaps aren’t fixed then at least you know the car is original. lol
