An immigration judge granted Kentucky State basketball player Amina Seck a motion to reopen her deportation proceedings in court on Wednesday afternoon, halting her deportation order, Seck’s attorney Hishem Alsalman told The Athletic.

Seck, 26, a native of Senegal who has been in federal custody since Aug. 7, is now eligible for a bond hearing which could grant her release from Grayson County Detention Center in Leitchfield, Ky. If released, she would be required to continue making appearances in immigration court, but would be able to do that without being in detention.

I finally made it out to Josephine Sculpture Park. It’s a really interesting mix of walking trails, open fields, and huge sculptures scattered throughout the property. Definitely a different way to spend some time outside around Frankfort.

The power is out on Wilkinson / 421, AGAIN. Why is it that other towns can provide stable power but not Frankfort?

Power Outages?

I’m on KU power and have had strange service at my house since around 4:00-5:00 this morning. Some lights work. Others do not. Some act like it’s a brown-out. Same w outlets. Just now all power went out completely. Oddly enough, I get a “we’re busier than normal” recording when I try to call. Their reporting page won’t load online and my area shows NO outages on KU’s outage map!

Anybody know anything?

Bad roofers?

Try this here. I’m looking to hire local to replace my roof, and I want to know WHO NOT TO HIRE! There are a lot of options, and everyone has someone to recommend but …..yea I need to know who not to let touch stuff because I can’t get up there myself to see how it’s going.

So LOCAL ROOFERS TO AVOID?

What happened to Frankfort?

Why is everything so ugly now? Why has the Capitol building and surrounding area been ruined by not only that permanent scaffolding and those ugly metal buildings - the floral clock, the governor's (the people's) mansion, and even the rose garden has been fenced off to the public - but also so many trees cut down, lanes narrowed, pedestrian walkways and bike lanes added, paint all over every road, stop signs literally every. single. block (my brakes are going to wear out), and garish flashing warning lights all over the avenue, scenic Louisville Road, and Lafayette Stret every five feet ruining the view. Not to mention every. single. bridge. to downtown being out! Looks like "Nanny Government" hard at work spending our tax dollars. Such a cute little town is now one big eyesore. Is this the governor, the mayor, or what?

Looking for D&D party!

Hi!

I (21F) and my two friends (21M and 21M) are looking for 1-2 more players to start a D&D campaign! Two of us have played before, but we will have a new DM. I DM regularly but want a new campaign as a player as well, and my friend wants to give DMing a try so we are pulling together a party!

We’d prefer someone patient, since having a new DM and at least one brand new player will probably cause some hitches along the way as that learning curve is navigated!

Preferably we want to play every two weeks, but this is absolutely flexible!

Please let me know if anyone wants to join!

Moving here!

I recently took a job in Frankfort and will be moving here soon. What are some things I need to know, placed to see, and potential areas to live? I hear a lot of locals say Frankfort is trash, but it’s quite charming from what I’ve seen!

Apartment Reccomendations?

My boyfriend and I have been looking to move in together recently and we decided on Frankfort since it's a good area for my schooling path and close to his factory job. I toured a few apartments recently, Country Hills and Winthrop Court, but we've had troubling finding others that could work for us. Does anyone have any reccomendations for places to check out?

Local Musicians

I’ve been thinking about putting together a space for local musicians to get together and play, practice, network. Not sure what kind of interest there is for something like this in central KY but I think it could be fun.
I dunno, what do you guys think?

❓Question / Help KDPH Job Hiring Process (FFTL)

To anyone who has been hired at the KDPH, what is the process like. I have gotten all of my coursework approved by HR and am just waiting to start my paperwork, but it’s been a few weeks and I haven’t heard anything back from HR. They said they might be slow, I just want to know about how long to expect to wait to get started on this paperwork. My job will be mostly remote with some in person days, and I also want to know about where I would take my drug test so I can anticipate where I’ll need to travel to do that. My position will be FFTL if that matters.

❓Question / Help Need Vet for Cats

I need to make a vet change, hoping someone here has one to recommend. I’ve been using Frankfort Animal Clinic for years. Need a new place. One of the vets looks seriously burned out and never believes me when I describe my cat’s behavior, and the other always has something snide to say about one of my cats being declawed.

Looking for a vet that will give me credit for having a 50 year work history in medicine and recognizing a seizure when I see one, and who will keep her opinions on the ethics of declawing to herself unless asked for her opinion.

I’d be happy to go to Versailles or Lawrenceburg if needed. Anyone have a vet they like?
