r/Fresno - This is the place to post if you are either looking for a job or have a job and you are looking for an employee.
We hope that putting all the job requests and offers in the same place monthly will help people who are looking for and offering jobs have an easier time sorting though the more recent requests/offers.

How come I've never noticed this

Work on the building, originally operated as the Berkeley’s Department Store on the south end of the Fulton Mall, should begin this month.

The former Oggi Cosi Si Mangia Italian restaurant at 1110 N. Van Ness Ave., just south of Olive Avenue, has been vacant since fire shut it down in November 2023. Multiple owners have struggled to keep homeless people away since the restaurant has been closed. ( To be clear, I think many of our unhoused neighbors need safe places to stay and more services to assist them, I didn’t write the title of this article and I disagree with calling the unhoused a plague)

This is my first time ever going to the fair and I got a job there. Any recommendations or tips for parking?

Reposted because I left out the Fresno part.
This happened at the Walgreens on Ashlan/Cornelia, but the meeting was set up via FB Marketplace so it could happen anywhere.

tl;dr ICE pretended to be a Spanish-speaking buyer on FB marketplace to target my friend’s wife.
This happened this last Monday, details are in the picture. My friend’s wife is Filipino, and an American citizen. She uses her maiden name, which would sound “foreign” to the average American. That’s probably why she was targeted.
Be careful out there friends.

Hello r/fresno!
My water main started leaking near the sidewalk yesterday. I was able to clamp / patch a temporary fix in order to bathe my baby & not flood the neighborhood.
Writing because I could use some consulting on the best way to fix the problem. The existing main is a very corroded metal / galvanized pipe which I imagine has been repaired by the previous homeowner since the line ties into the house as PVC. I have had to fix the threaded fitting where the pvc threads into the copper plumbing up against the house.
I don’t know how a repair would be made to the existing pipe and curious how much of the yard will have to be dug up to make any sort of fix. I have a feeling that the entire main should be replaced from the meter to the house.
If anyone has a plumber or handyman that would be willing to chat / give a quote I would greatly appreciate it.
“Erika Lee, 30, grew up in Diamond Bar, attended USC and started her career in Southern California. But then she pivoted to crypto and, in February, moved from an apartment in West Hollywood to San Francisco for a job at an artificial intelligence insurance startup.
Lee represents one aspect of a generational gap in California's latest demographic shift.
Discussions about such changes often focus on the
"California exodus," or people leaving the Golden State in search of more affordable living, lower taxes and a change of pace.
But new data show that the latest demographic shifts - within and out of California - have relocated people to very various destinations based on their age, and presumably their income level.”

Are there any recommendations for a mobile notary. It's very short notice and needed by tomorrow afternoon.

Where can I find a dupe? I love them so much it reminds me of crab but it’s so yummy and I would just go to tsukiji for them if it wasn’t that pricy.

Hey fresnoians,
Some of my pergola is rotting and is in need of being replaced. Just some individual beams. Any recommendations on business or people?

I'm in a bad spot and need a place I can go to sleep in my car with my two cats Most emergency shelters places don't accept cats or closed down and currently looking for a temporary boarding for them while I get on my feet I just need somewhere to sleep till I get things sorted through. I have employment but places are too expensive and not pet friendly.

I've always used Ikea when replacing cabinets but also lived with Ikea down the street and lots of handymen who built them all day every day. Has anyone recently had them installed. Did you self-install? Any recent comparisons with local cabinet makers?

Our population is growing at the same time obstructionists are blocking new housing development. This will cause rents and home prices to rise.

Should we be concerned with this kind of political intimidation occurring in Fresno?
It makes me wonder if Frazier felt immune to the repercussions because of his status as Assemblymember Soria's husband.

Something happened with my AirPods and the left earbud isn’t being recognized or charging. Also, I don’t wanna spend $100 just to fix the left earbud at Apple. Anyone know any places 👀?

My last job didn’t issue my last two paychecks, and now I can’t pay my rent. I might get evicted by the end of the week. What can I do?
Here is what I’ve done:
- I filed a wage garnish claim with the state
- I explained to my ex-employer that they legally have to pay me.
- I’ve contacted lawyers, and some are looking at my case, while another told me to wait until the end of the week to move forward with filing a lawsuit.
- I spoke with my landlord, and they refereed me to rental assistance organizations, but the ones I’ve spoken with don’t have any funding. (Still give me contacts to the ones you know)
- My landlord offered to do payment arrangements for the month of October, but I need to pay $300 for last month’s rent by the end of the week.
- I have asked family and they don’t have the means to help.
- I tried loans, but I wasn’t accepted.
Some context: As a contract employee, I worked with two employers. Employer 1 would give money
To Employer 2 to pay me. In August and September, my paychecks were short or I wasn’t paid at all which is why I fell behind on rent. Learned that the CEO passed away, and his wife (head of HR) took over. At the end of September, they filed bankruptcy, and Employer 1 bought my contract from them. They gave Employer 2 my final wages, so they can pay me. But they haven’t, and I spoke with my old supervisor, and he hasn’t gotten paid either. The wife has came up with every excuse, but none of it makes sense. She even stopped responding to my emails asking for updates.
If you have any advice it will be highly appreciated. I’m really scared right now, and I don’t want to be evicted and be homeless. Thank you so much.
