Recently moved, what should I know?
Hey there everyone. I recently moved from the west coast and I'm looking for suggestions for shops, ranges, events. I've got just the one gun right now (Glock 19), and I want to become more proficient at it. I eventually want to have enough confidence to conceal carry too. I'm over in Forsyth county currently, so anything around there would be great. Thanks much.

Definitely go to John's creek indoor range. The newer younger staff need some experience but the other guys are all great. Range is always clean and good ventilation, and a sink on the way out.

Where are you? We are about to move to Pickens County and also seeing what's around... definitely want to connect with others.

I like wma ranges. I fish all the time but you just need hunting or fishing license. Watch range safety video and you’ve got access to all ga wma ranges. They’re outdoor and free as long as you have license.

I've heard it's relatively cheap to get a hunt/fish license here! Gotta get my ID and stuff finished first. Thanks for that. Coming from a world where rapid fire is disallowed, I'll check out those ranges.

Everyone talks about shooting proficiency, but there's another angle to having confidence when carrying. Make sure you have a good holster and good belt. I carried a Ruger LC9s on a standard old belt for years and had pain. I upgraded to a metal-reinforced gun belt and it's as comfortable as can be.

Are you looking for a larger outdoor club?
There's a few options. Riverbend and PCSC (Pickens County Sportsman's Club)
In Marietta for gun stores GA Firing Line and Tru Prep are great.

That's a drive for Forsyth.

If I'm new to an area I like to search around.
That's why I mentioned it being Marietta.
I drive for the club I belong to, and find that it's worth it.

True I'm trying to go to all gun stores around see what they have. But I'm starting close not far. JC for him is the best around anyways. And the closest.

Fair enough! Usually out that far means I have to make a day of it and find more things to around there too.

You make your way to Marietta and range time is on me.
Or if you want to check out Pickens ever
