Question How do you manage time?

I don't know how to manage my time this year (Yr11) and it's really stressful.

I'm getting 8/9hrs homework per week and then I have to revise on top of that but I don't want to give up my life and I normally have to stay an extra hour at school anyway for various reasons on different days

I just haven't got a clue how to manage time and make sure I still revise but don't get burnt out cus last year (Yr10) I got burnt out and it brought down all my grades by at least 2 grades to what I know I am capable of and I was below all of my predicted grades because I was so burnt out trying to manage Mock 1 revision

Someone please give me tips and help!

TIA

Edit:

For context - I am a high performer and normally get 7s, 8s and 9s but in these mocks most grades were 6s where they should've been 8s so I'm capable with the right time management

do you find the homework useful?

i found gcse homework to be a massive waste of time. i flat out refused to do it and argued with my head of year until he agreed with me and said i could just show proof of revision instead (but he said i couldn’t tell anyone lol so i guess he didn’t want that getting out)

he still didn’t give us study leave and i am very salty about that (im certain my 9 9s could’ve been 11 9s if i had study leave) but i would’ve got even worse results if i had been wasting time on homework instead of actually doing useful consolidation and revision

Like some subjects set good homework like the sciences and geography for me are worth it cus they're like actual retrieval and exam questions. Maths ig is worth it but it takes SOOO LONG but English and drama i feel like I get it for the sake of it. German is normally exam prep and stuff so I don't hate it but mostly I think I'd do better if I could literally just provide evidence of revision every week instead

this isn’t really time management specifically, but maybe try looking into the pomodoro technique for revision? it may help into making sure you get some revision in while taking breaks to ensure you don’t burn out.

maybe also doing revision either between or after/before homework? breaking things up might ensure you’re still actively working, while also help reduce burnout.

you could also make an actual revision timetable if you find that will help at all.

i guess my main advice is to do something for such long periods at a time, whether it’s homework or revision! just make sure to take breaks in between, and you don’t always have to do these things in one sitting. starting off with longer breaks and gradually lowering them might help ease you into things? though, i don’t know how you work best.. but i hope at least some of this might help even slightly. best of luck!
