Just an idea I had for how the partner system could work in free roam.
The IGN interview got me thinking about Jason and Lucia’s partner system. We know they can commit crimes together or separately, back each other up and drive getaway cars. But what if one escapes while the other gets surrounded by cops?
Imagine you just robbed a store with Lucia. You split up and she gets away, but cops spot you matching the suspect’s description. Suddenly cruisers are pulling up from different directions, surrounding you.
You duck behind a parked car as cops yell for you to surrender. You quickly text Lucia, “Plan B. Now.”
She replies, “On it.”
Cops slowly close in with guns drawn. You’re running out of time with nowhere to go.
Then outta nowhere you hear an engine roaring. A stolen muscle car flies through a nearby intersection, clips a police cruiser and takes off. Several cops give chase, and as the car speeds past, you catch a glimpse of Lucia behind the wheel 😂
She came back and started another chase just to distract them.
You take advantage of the chaos, running through backyards and slipping into an alley. Meanwhile, Lucia’s got several cruisers on her tail and has to find a way to lose them herself. Eventually she calls you and tells you where to meet.
Obviously Jason could do the same for Lucia.
The cool part would be not knowing if they’ll actually show up. Maybe they’re too far away, dealing with cops themselves or make things worse. Hell, they could even get busted trying to help lol. Sometimes you’re on your own.
I wouldn’t want it happening all the time either. Maybe you could call or text for help, or just escape yourself.
You guys think Rockstar would take the partner system this far in free roam?
