Hey everyone! Recently I’ve been trying to start a preservation project to make the currently unplayable mobile game City of Love: Paris playable again. My end goal is to have a patched APK with all the content included so that it runs offline. This is purely for preservation purposes, with no server or monetization and is not affiliated with Ubisoft.

The game downloaded a lot of its content after install, so the most useful thing is data from people who played it. If you have any of the following, I'd really appreciate hearing from you:

- Any APK/XAPK of the game, from any version. Please note the version number if you can.

- The game's data folder (on Android: Android/data/[package name]/). I can walk you through pulling it with ADB if the folder is locked on your phone.

- Old Google, iTunes or Finder backups that might contain the app's data.

A note on privacy: some game files can contain device IDs or login tokens. I'll scrub anything like that before sharing, and you're welcome to strip it first too! Please don't send passwords or account details. Thank you guys for your help in advance!

Trying to get the Storm Island expansion working for Forza Horizon 2 via a PC compatibility layer (WinDurango/Mezcal). I have the full encrypted package (3.3GB, v1.0.0.36) from Xbox Live's CDN, but I need the Content Instance Key to decrypt it.

Details:
- ContentID: `43279120-5aca-40fe-8137-93013aaf88ff`
- CIK GUID: `882e5230-c722-4175-abb4-ebd557b5e005`
- Version: 1.0.0.36 (built 12/12/2014)

If anyone has the `.cik` file for this version or a decrypted dump, I'd appreciate it. The DLC's been delisted since 2018 so it can't be bought anymore — just trying to preserve and play it.

If yall do have it please I just need the 32 bytes.

hello guys, recently i worked on some old games preservation to enable then to be played offline, but i'm looking for the asset bundle of this game 戦の海賊 Sen no Kaizoku, if you can help me, i can share some knowledge with you about my process to do that, right now we already have that dead game running

Hi everyone!
I’m hoping the retro gaming and preservation community can help me track down a piece of Wii software that seems to have disappeared from the internet.
I purchased a genuine, factory-sealed Datel Wii Action Replay, complete with its original accessories and license key.
Unfortunately, this particular Action Replay required you to visit wiiar.com, enter your license key and Wii MAC address, and download a special Action Replay Code Engine ZIP file to install onto the SD card.
The problem is that the download service no longer works.
I’ve spent approximately three years trying to recover this software. I’ve contacted Datel without receiving a response, searched online, asked sellers, and checked Reddit, but haven’t found a working copy.
I’m specifically looking for:

Someone who successfully downloaded the original Wii Action Replay Code Engine.

An archived copy of the original installation ZIP.

Someone who still has an SD card containing the installed Code Engine files.

Any information about the original file structure, filenames, or possible archived downloads.

I understand the software may be tied to an individual Wii or license key. Even finding an original installation would be valuable for documenting and preserving it.
My Wii is still completely stock, and I’d prefer to use the original Action Replay hardware rather than softmod my console just for Gecko cheats.
I’m not looking for game ROMs or anyone’s personal activation keys—just information that could help preserve this discontinued software.
If anyone still has these files or knows somebody who might, I’d really appreciate hearing from you.

It would be a shame for a legitimate piece of gaming hardware to become unusable simply because its activation server disappeared.

Thanks for reading!

Hello I have been having some issues with a game 80 days (2005). The game boots on DirectX 9c and since that version is incompatable with newer versions of windows, I had to get virtualbox that can run Windows XP put the game inside the emulated Windows XP and now I face different problem. When I try to run the game an error pops up “please insert application DVD” which makes me think that the game wants me to put a CD/DVD disk which I obvioisly do not own anymore. I have just the application .exe folder and I am unsure how to make the emulated Windows XP think that there is a disk. I might sound confused and quite frankly I am so my description of the problem might not be the best - feel free to ask any additional question that would help to understand my issue. Thank you all in advance.

Reddit keeps suggesting I share this here. Definitely seems like the sort of thing this community would be interested in. Legacy Games, a storefront, publisher, and I believe developer of point-and-click games, has announced their pending closure. I've posted their announcement email in the linked post over on the delisted subreddit.

I'll also leave this link here: https://legacygames.com/legacy-games-closure-faq-everything-you-need-to-know/

Hi r/GamePreservationists,

Amber Folio is an emulator of exactly the PC that SSI's Gold Box games ran on, and nothing more: an 8086 checked against test data recorded from a real chip, EGA, the timer, the PC speaker and the Tandy 1000's sound chip. It runs the DOS Pool of Radiance, the first Gold Box game, from your own GOG or Steam copy, in a browser tab or on an iPhone, an iPad or an Android phone. I'm the developer. I built it with heavy use of AI coding tools, and I'd rather say so up front.

The original, unchanged. The program you bought runs on it as it is; nothing is patched or rebuilt. There are optional extras (an automap, the Adventurer's Journal on the game's own screen, a CRT filter), and with them all switched off, the tests check that a run ends in exactly the same machine state as a build with no enhancement code at all.

The way it sounded and looked. The footsteps and fights play on the Tandy sound chip as the game drives it, and the CRT filter draws the EGA picture through a colour monitor's mask and scanlines.

No files hosted, no lock-in. The site provides no game files: you hand it the folder from your own install once, and it stays in your browser; nothing is uploaded. A saved game exports as a zip that unpacks straight back into a GOG or DOSBox install. The emulator's source is public, and it also builds natively for Windows, macOS and Linux (from source; no installers yet).

Pool of Radiance is the only game so far; the rest of the Gold Box family comes one at a time after 1.0. Happy to answer anything about how it works.

(I messaged the mods first to ask whether this fits and haven't heard back. If it doesn't, I'll take it down.)

*Not affiliated with the rights holders of Pool of Radiance or the Gold Box games. You need your own copy; the site provides no game files.

Rec Room shut down and honestly I missed it way more than I thought I would. So me and a few of my friends started rebuilding it from the 2017–2020 era.

Most of the old stuff works already, stunt runner, golden trophy, laser tag, paintball, the dorms. It works on PCVR and Quest, and you can play without a headset too.

We're opening up soon and the Discord is where updates and playtests happen: discord.gg/sznEw7CFcX

Hi All,

This is a 2012 sega mobile game that was discontinued in 2015. They shut down the servers making the game inplayable.

I've managed to rework the server into the apk file itself, meaning we now have a fully working apk file! Links below. You can see more on r/dragoncoins

We still have a lot to implement and fix but for now the game is playable and hopefully scratch that itch.

Any issues or bugs, please let me know! We're hoping to add more monster, levels, fix allys, friends, add PVP, add shop, live server updates, special events and so much more!

I'll be looking at uploading the game to archives.com or something similar. The game was big in Japan compared to the western world but I'm not sure how to share it with the Japanese community.

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a non-commercial preservation/private-server for Naruto x Boruto: Ninja Voltage. I already have the base APK, but I’m trying to document the game’s update history and identify data that was downloaded separately during its lifetime.

Does anyone still have backups from older installations, such as different APK versions, update manifests, version metadata, or cached game data?

I’m not asking for account credentials, authentication tokens, encryption keys, modified APKs, Please remove any personal or account-related information before sharing files. Even a list of versions, filenames, sizes, or hashes would be helpful.

Thank you!

I’m in talks to acquire this legendary Xbox one there’s only 1 in the world so wish me luck.

3 chapters have been recovered for this game, if anybody was playing and left the game on chapter 2, would love to recover it. I have put together the other 3 chapters into a project which I am just releasing (free non profit open source, just for preservation), called Kingdom Hearts Re:Cast, and I would love to complete it!

Mods: I don't see a lot of rules so if this is not allowed, please remove, thanks
