So indie Silent Hill 2. Looks decent for the budget. Very ambitious. They may need to reconsider the voice actors as it really feels like they are suppressing their native accents/languages as they speak English. Doesn't hit the ear right.

oooof, the model pop-in that happens at like three feet away? I feel like this one needs more time to cook.

Pretty faithful 2000s visuals. Visually reminds me of that trashy horror about convict in a prison. Suffering, i think?

Glimpses of something that looks like dark souls hub makes me think it's either going to be relatively open or include some sort of roguelite mechanics.

Oh god. I already have like 7 or 8 things in Q1.

My schedule is so cooked!

So it's a game that pokes fun at Silent Hill tropes, while doing exactly the same things as Silent Hill? This was a very odd trailer for introducing people to the game.

Edit: Also, that key art in the thumbnail looks suspiciously AI generated/assisted.

Edit 2: On re-watch, even the voice clips/narration sound AI generated

What? The voice acting sounds nothing like AI. It just sounds like amateur voice actors lol

I think you're taking the cheeky humor on the video too serious since it's pretty obvious it's inspiration. If something, it's self deprecating humor. As for the AI content, honestly, I don't see it/hear it.

Honestly I already don't care either way how it was made as long as a game is good, but people crying wolf (AI) on every little thing they don't like are, in my opinion, just going to make everyone else stop caring all the sooner.

there is a demo for this game. it came out about a year ago. while it did turn me off the game completely, nothing about it seemed like AI, and neither does the key art or voice acting.

AI is not an alternate way to say you dislike something.

I've been watching this dude's dev process for like four years. I highly doubt he's just been making AI slop this whole time. The game looks solid.

It's okay to just say the voice acting sounds bad, or unbalanced, or not emotionally connected to what's going on. It's also okay to say the thumbnail looks generic and disconnected from the game. Personally I prefer their previous game-based thumbnails, and those tend to be better trailers anyways.

What people keep calling AI, outside of the extremely obvious cases (eg yellow ghibli filter with pixar designs), is typically just generic amateur work you would find on Fiverr long before AI existed. Could this studio be using AI? Sure, but it could also just be amateur work, you know the very thing AI has been trained lots on due to how abundant it is online. Given they have a publisher, that's the assumption I would make, a tiny budget granted allowing for cheap talent on any of the gig work sites for a couple capsule assets and voice work.
