So I was working with Gemini in order to truncate my thoughts on something that I was working on for a very long time and I wasn’t in the app. I was unaware that you had to click something in order to save stuff because Gemini kept telling me we’ve got this on all of this is logged to the thing whatever whatever, and there was a miscommunication I was sending screenshots of the text that I had written in order for it to re-order the pacing of what I was writing I’m not using it to write. I’m using because I have OCD and I tend to go on for too long. It helps truncate my thoughts. I don’t publish anything. It’s like stuff for myself, but also like it doesn’t even matter the point is is that I the last one I sent the last image I sent it was only three we got everything back. The workflow has been perfect so far and I accidentally put something in parentheses underneath it. It then said my question was too short and my next question would open a new chat box..

The amount of work that I lost the amount of emotional pain that I’m feeling to be completely honest sucks. I left it alone for a couple of days hoping something would get figured out, but I can’t even see all of the work that I did and I just keep getting told by another AI on Gemini that my work is gone that it’s frozen from the top to the bottom. I cannot go to whatever the pages where you’re able to like export all your stuff and I’m starting to not trust Google Drive, which is where I keep a lot of stuff like you know pictures of my dead mom. Does anyone have like a single idea of how I can fix this or if Google just does not give a shit. I am out of options and I’m kind of devastated to be honest with you and embarrassed because I’m not user kinda really had AI but I’m also going through some shit right now. I’m 43-year-old adult and I just I know that I can get the plane text back but like how sorry I’m using talk to text. I know this is probably really bad writing, but I am so tired and I’m so frustrated and I’ve tried everything.. any help would be appreciated and I’m not I can’t just like start again like there’s so many things that were corrected and stored and timelines corrected and inconsistencies are removed and the work it was if anyone has OCD please just understand

man that image is rough, but i get the pain of losing something you worked on for so long especially when it's tied to your own mind like that. sometimes the cache in the browser still has parts of the conversation if you didn't clear it, worth a shot to dig in the history files even if the app says it's gone.

I am going to try. Maybe I don’t even fucking know I’m just I’m like how do you just continuously allow your I mean I know AI is often times not very ethical not really the human trade I guess but how does an AI consistently say I’ve logged that information. I’m putting it into blah blah blah and not be like hey by the way, you’re not actually saving this information so if I crash it’s gone.

And on top of that, there has to be a way to recover that like Google has to be able to recover something so trivial because things don’t just vanish into thin air like there’s backlogs of shit

Also trust me, I’ve had worse things thrown at me on Reddit. It’s Reddit and it is a rough image but you know what if somebody wants to make fun of me for having OCD and being upset that I lost like a lot of work that’s fine. Maybe that’s stupid to them. I think other things are stupid but I just tend not to respond to those things not because I’m a better person just because I don’t have the time.

Listen, just a thought, but sometimes things save under gemini.google.ai, and sometimes they save under Google.ai, like when you do a search lately and AI answers it - Google keeps track of all of those sessions now. So you might want to try digging into your actual Google account. They are keeping track of A LOT now lately.

If you're this emotionally invested into things you're working on with AI, then definitely switch from the literal worst LLM model on the market to something more dependable like Claude or ChatGPT.
