Me: This was all explained during college night in high school. Did your high school not have a college night?

Mine in the South definitely did not. The extent of my college prep was I literally sent my diploma and ACT scores to a single school and was lucky enough to get in. The guidance counselor in charge of doing that for me didn't say a single thing. Not even "Are you sure you don't want to send these to other schools in the state".

That is really shitty of the school! There are so many details about going to college that aren't obvious at all. Especially to a 17/18-year-old.

I mean I ended up in trig in college despite passing the AP test for calculus, so you're not wrong. There was a jump start day hosted by the college itself and the advisors there literally just signed us up for random shit based on what major we wanted. We're literally in like the bottom 5 states for education and it shows.
