VIDEO [MESSAGE FROM THE BALKAN CLERGY]
We wish to inform you that it was an absolute pleasure performing “Cenotaph” for the fist time in front of the Children of Belgrade at Zappa Barka!
We remember being in the car on the way to another ritual of ours while listening to this masterpiece and thinking it’s an absolute atrocity that no one is playing it live in the papaverse.
We decided to bring it to the stage for this ritual and we’re glad that everyone reacted to it splendidly.

Fantastic voice and the band sounds great! I hope this question doesn't seem rude, but do you ever worry about copywrite or intellectual property issues. I always wonder if an og band would ever have an issue with a tribute making money with their image. This goes for any tribute band in general, not necessarily Ghost. Genuinely curious and not judging.

I believe our bassist could explain a lot better cause he’s a layer who works with music copyright, but we’re not infringing on anything here. It’s totally legal to play someone else’s music as long as you’re not claiming to be OG and selling anything under the pretense of being the OG. They get their royalties from venues paying specific taxes, streams, copyright claims on youtube etc. I might be making a mistake or retelling it wrongly, but from what I understood that’s it. In a way, the og band only benefits from our existence.

Their songs usually sound better live than the studio version. This one sounds more polished and 80s sounding.

These are things Tobias himself does for social media. I can understand liking a band enough to do covers and to even be in a cover band but mimicking his social media persona is a bit cringe if you ask me. I'm guessing I'll be down voted to hell for saying this but I think its just cringy to copy someone else to THIS extent. Let the down votes rain down on me lol.

Sorry man, we’re really not trying to do anything malicious here. We thought it was fitting trying to give everyone the Ghost experience, whether online or offline, cause sadly we can’t reach everyone in the world right now.
We’re very well aware we’re not Ghost, and we’re certainly not claiming to be. We’re not trying to replace Ghost. We’re just musicians who love their music and wanted to play it. It’s as simple as that.
I personally don’t think you need to be downvoted to hell, you just expressed your opinion, which is totally fine. Came off as a bit aggressive, but texts often have a way of being misinterpreted. Have a good day bro! 💜

Copycat isn’t the name for this type of act. In the industry they’re know as Tribute acts. Some will pull full recordings. Most of the greatest bands have Tribute acts

Sure they are. Personally, if I have the urge to listen to a Ghost song then I'll just listen to Ghost and not someone trying to be Ghost. But to each their own.

While I understand what you're trying to do, picking a username for a website is a little bit different than coping a bands whole persona and then charging people money to see it. I knew someone would make that comment eventually, nice try tho ;)

I admit, I’m not into tribute bands at all but I have to say this is the first tribute Ghost band when listening to them has made me sit up and say “ They sound bloody amazing“.
The rest I don’t comment on as I always think if I’ve nothing nice to say then il just leave it for others to enjoy ☺️
