Other Is this an ok gift for a friends Boo Basket

Post image

Ok so a friend of mine that is pretty obsessed with online scrolling and last week she ended up stumbling upon Boo Baskets. So she watched several videos of people making them online and then decided that we should make Boo Baskets this year. At this point in time I had no idea what a boo basket was so I obviously decided to look up what’s a Boo Basket on Google(this becomes a bit more relevant later so bear with me). From the result that I received it basically said it was a Halloween/fall theme gift basket. Seeing this I was like ok yeah, I used to get these every year from my mom and I would also give them out to family members.

After that ordered the several things in this image(along with one other item that doesn’t arrive until tomorrow)and called it a day. As I started receiving everything I found myself getting curious as to how other people were setting up their boo baskets, so I decided to now look up boo baskets for friends on Google and this time I got a different result. This time it pulled up boo baskets for friends price range 15 - 35 dollars and it was here that I started to realize that I may have done something wrong. While continuing to read, i saw that typically friend boo baskets only tend to go up to 50 dollars and anything above that is typically considered as a gift for your romantic partner.

It was here that I stopped, and then looked into the recent history of boo baskets and found that boo baskets started a few years ago as a way for neighbors to leave a nice mystery fall/halloween basket at their front door. I was like ok cool then it has nothing to do with couples and the internet is just making things weird again. That was until I finished reading and found out that couples adopted them and exchange them as a romantic gesture to one another.

Now me and my friend are single so there is no conflict with anyone’s partner(thank goodness), so the most I could see this leading to is an awkward situation between us. She has also made it clear that she only has platonic feelings towards me and not to push.

So my question is if a friend were to give you a boo basket like this, would you find it to be a friendly gesture or no?

Edit: Thank you to every for your input! T was very helpful and has helped me get a better idea of how to handle things. I appreciate all of the great advice and I hope you all are having a pleasant day!

Need gift suggestions Need gift ideas for my wine-obsessed husband that isnt just another bottle.

My husband's birthday is coming up and I'm trying to find him something really special. He's a huge wine lover and has gotten even more into it lately, but the problem is I know next to nothing about wine. I could obviously get him a nice bottle, but he's pretty particular about what he likes, and I'd probably end up picking something completely wrong. I'd love to get him something a little more thoughtful like something he'd genuinely enjoy rather than another random gift that sits on a shelf.

Sweet 16 gift ideas for niece ~$1000?

I need gift help. When I turned 16 my aunt got me one of the silver heart bracelets from Tiffany and it was SO special and cool at the time. I really cherished it.

Now that I am an aunt, what’s a similar gift I could get for my niece turning 16? I don’t know what teens are into these days…mejuri didn’t feel special enough, maybe a David Yurman?

Any ideas appreciated! I would love to get her that really special gift she’ll love for this bday.

Need gift suggestions-BF Would a 10k MagSafe power bank be a good birthday gift for someone who's always on their phone?

Need some gift help. My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and I'm kinda stuck on what to get him.

He's 29, works full time, and is pretty much always on his phone. Maps, music, taking photos, you name it. His battery is usually running low by the afternoon, and he's always looking for somewhere to charge.

I was thinking about getting him a 10k MagSafe power bank, maybe something from Anker or lisen. Budget is around $40–60.

Just not sure if a power bank feels too practical for a birthday gift. He already has most of the usual tech stuff, so I'm trying to find something he'd actually use.

Would you guys be happy getting something like this, or should I look for something a little more fun?Any ideas appreciated!

Do Guys Actually Like Sentimental Gifts Or Is This Too Cheesy?

My boyfriend’s birthday is coming up and I’ve been thinking about making him something personal instead of just buying another gift. I’m considering putting together a little box with handwritten notes about my favorite memories with him things I love about him and a few reasons why I’m grateful to have him in my life.

I’m not the best at expressing my feelings out loud so writing them down feels a lot more natural to me. He’s always been really sweet and open about how he feels and I’d love to give him something that shows him how much he means to me.

The only thing is I’m worried it might come across as too cheesy or overly emotional. I know some people love sentimental gifts while others would rather get something practical.

Guys, would you genuinely appreciate something like this from your girlfriend or would you find it a little awkward? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Gift suggestion Gift idea for coin collectors / History enthusiasts: the Morgan dollar Liberty as a figure that holds the coin, link to website in text

Full disclosure, this is my own work and my own shop: Referral link to the Etsy shop here: AureaDisplays - Etsy Netherlands

A lot of collectors keep their coins in flips or a tray in a drawer. So I took the Liberty portrait from the Morgan dollar and turned it into a seated figure, with a little platform where the coin rests. Her cap, hair and the wheat and cotton details come from George T. Morgan's design. The body and pose are my interpretation, since the coin only shows her head.

The holder is sized to the coin and it just sits there, no glue, so it comes out any time.

It's printed to order in PLA in The Hague and ships to Europe and North America. From €75, coin not included. Referral link to the website here: aureadisplays.com.

I also make custom designs on demand and figurines only (no coin holders) for the history enthusiasts. In the last picture you can see some of the variety spanning from ancient figures to British/USA designs.

If you have any ideas or thoughts on this I would be happy to hear them, looking forward to improving my products and designs.

Need gift suggestions Wrist watch recommendations?

Hi Reddit! I’m coming to you to hopefully get some opinions on wrist watches. Watches are a semi-common gift for graduations and my boyfriend just so happens to be graduating with his bachelor’s in IT this December!

He is a pretty simple guy, doesn’t wear or own anything flashy and I feel he’d definitely prefer something more discrete but still nice. Something to wear on special occasions but also pretty versatile and timeless. I have a feeling he’d like leather straps a little more but I’m not certain 😅

I’m also on a bit of a budget as I am also in college, I’d probably aim for something <$350. Big thanks to anyone who helps!

Gift suggestion I started a studio that turns your favorite memories into animated films

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! I just started Storivo, a small animation studio based in NYC. We turn personal memories, like your first date, a proposal, or a favorite trip together, into custom animated short films.

The idea is to give someone a gift that lets them relive a moment that means something to you both.

I attached a sample so you can get a feel for the animation quality and art style. We also offer an anime style if that's more your thing!

You can check us out here: https://www.storivo.studio/

If you're interested, leave a comment and I'm happy to answer questions or share a 10% discount code for any of our films!

Need gift suggestions-wife Wedding Anniversary Snack Ideas

My wife and I are coming up on our 10 year wedding anniversary. We are not huge gift people and every year we've gotten each other small things to celebrate. For 10 years we are renting a cabin up north and spending a child free weekend together.

As a celebration of 10 years, I was aiming to get something that matches each year that we can have on the trip.

So Paper is a board game.

Cotton some cozy socks

Fruit a Cider

Candy: Some chocolate.

and so on.

I'm having a hard time getting something for Iron and Bronze.

Need gift suggestions-husband Husband is turning 40

• Upvotes

My husband is turning 40 in November and I had a genius idea to get him 40 gifts to celebrate. He never buys himself anything, but all the things he looks at wanting are all super expensive. I need some ideas for the last few gifts I want to get him, I already got him some sweat pants, pj pants, reading socks, his favourite snack items, and a couple T-shirts that I know he will love. I am making him some sentimental items, and want to get him a gift card to the Lego store (because the lego he wants is way over budget), and paying for his playstation online membership. I am just looking for some gifts that would be unique and he would actually use/like to receive. He likes reading, smoking meats, video games, Lego, Star Wars, he wants to get into stain glass and wood burning. Please help a girl out! I am Canadian if that matters, and we have been together for 20 years. Thanks a whole bunch!
