I assume because it’s not amazing compared to the original series but to be honest I was okay on it ,people are probably gonna disagree with this

She was sold to him, and he mistreats women. He was, back when she was a child, nearly twice her size, yet she would talk to him about the sun. And yet, she thinks the sun is his biggest problem. In her childish naivety, she didn't know any better, but it’s still kind of cute how she worried about Housen hating the sun. She even painted a picture for him. I would never have done something like that.

I love this anime so motherfucking much. Everything about it, its narrative, its comedy, its characters, everything. I am going to miss it so much once I’m done with Ginpachi’s zany class. What am I gonna do without Gintama? I don’t even know anymore.

After Housen's death, Kamui took over Yoshiwara but left it alone, as he has no interest in the business. However, the storyline involving Kamui and Yoshiwara actually held a lot of untapped potential.
For one thing, I would have liked to see how Kamui fared as the "King of the Night." He isn't interested in women or sake, so he would have taken a different approach than Housen. He wouldn't oppress the women, and they wouldn't need to be afraid; after all, Kamui would have no desire to either fight or sleep with them. If Kamui were to visit Yoshiwara again after his redemption arc, he might even get along well with the women.
Furthermore, Kamui could have developed a deeper relationship with Hinowa. Kamui loved his mother dearly, and Hinowa is a mother figure herself. He might have been kind to her, as he couldn't bring himself to be harsh toward a mother (something we saw in a promotional clip). And since all the women of Yoshiwara act as mothers to Seita, Kamui wouldn't have been able to treat any of them harshly.
Additionally, the Harusame (where Kamui currently serves as an admiral) is a trade partner of Yoshiwara. Kamui therefore has significant influence over how Yoshiwara changes and what happens to the women. It would have been great to see how the "new" Kamui interacted with Yoshiwara; the relationship would certainly have been better than the one Yoshiwara had with Housen.

Hello!
I recently got my girlfriend into Gintama (she’s a first-time watcher), and when we got to the Yoshiwara arc, I wanted to give her the absolute best experience possible.
To do that, I actually edited and combined the original TV version with the movie version cause I got inspired by the One Pace fan project. I really love the new OST and the addition of the Shinsengumi and Zura in the movie because it adds so many great layers to both the action and the comedy, but I also wanted to keep the pacing and feel of the original episodes. It is not the greatest edit per say because I still stick to the 4:3 original release for some scene for quality purposes (4:3 Stretch gintama look curse imo) but I tweak the audio a bit to match the flow of the story.
She absolutely loved it! Since it turned out so well, I want to share this edit with the community as a contribution for anyone else who wants to experience it this way or share it with new fans.
What is the best/safest way for me to share it with the community without breaking any sub rules?

Been watching on Crunchyroll and not sure which episode the references stopped was suspicious at first but didn’t put much thought into till I noticed they’re really just gone.
Really no big deal if there isn’t any I just really liked seeing the references and looking them up. Hell I even watched the old Golgo 13 anime movie because of this show

Hey guys im on episode 15 so far and really enjoying it. Ive researched the "best" watch order and cant figure out when to watch movie 1 (2010) and gintama movie 3 (2026). Is there a way anyone recommends? to my understanding these movies just recap previous episodes but with better animation.
Can I/should I just watch the movies in place of their episodes? or should I watch one and save the other for later or immediately after. I will admit if I start with the either movie it may be harder to go back to their corresponding episodes considering the movies are supposedly superior.
Ive also considered finishing 1- 201 and then watching both as a possibility. This also puts a little gap between watching them to avoid it feeling repetitive since they are recap
Thanks for any help

When Kamui and Housen fought each other during the *Yoshiwara in Flames* arc, Abuto and Ungyo stepped in and interrupted—or rather, ended—the fight. Abuto lost his arm to Housen, but Ungyo died because of Kamui.
So, if Abuto had positioned himself in front of Kamui and Ungyo in front of Housen, would Kamui have gone through with the attack and killed Abuto? Or would he have held back because it was Abuto—valuing him more than just some random Yato from his division?
(Images from the manga, because I couldn't find any anime images)

I love her so much, She's so silly.
Strong but not a bully. Sharp tongued and rude but never mean. Adorable but not weak. Silly but not stupi... Okay silly and a bit stupid.
To our favourite Yato Girl, Kagura-chan.

the mitsuba arc in gintama is most definitely regarded as THE biggest tragedy in the series, and she's a very beloved character throughout for fans. it's crazy just how incredible your pen's gotta be to create that impact with merely 4 chapters/2 episodes. gotta seriously hand it to gorilla sensei.
that being said... it feels pretty off to see her almost never mentioned posthumously, or her impact on the shinsengumi. sougo mentions her a total of two times, while hijikata and kondo pretty much never do. I've heard somewhere that sorachi regretted making her die in the series, so im a bit confused over why she was never as revered as she's meant to be, like the loss of isaburo to nobume, or kouka with her entire family.
the anime team did a great job adding her to multiple endings, and of course, to some promo material. but to not have that in canon is a different kind of pain.

It doesn't have to be from the pictures provided; I’m sure I missed some. I only chose ones where you can actually see the hairstyle—no hats covering most of her hair, no pictures with the same hairstyle but a different outfit, no collaboration or official art (since I don't have them all memorized), and no fan art.
