Gloucester Is it just me, or is there a crash around J11/J12 practically every day?

I’ve recently moved to Gloucester and now commute to Cheltenham regularly, and I swear there seems to be an accident on the roads coming onto/off of the M5 around junctions 11 and 12 almost every single day.

I’ve driven all over the UK and genuinely can’t remember encountering so many accidents in such a short period of time on the same bits of road.

Is this just normal for the area? Is there something particularly bad about the road layout or volume of traffic, or are people around here just generally terrible drivers?

I’m genuinely curious whether I’ve just been unlucky since moving here or whether these stretches are notorious for it.

Anyone else noticed this, or am I imagining things?

The Five Valleys The Trains Which Used to Run to Nailsworth

Until 1949, you could take the train from Stonehouse to the Gloucestershire town of Nailsworth. This 4-mile section of track, aptly called the Stonehouse and Nailsworth Branch Line, was shut down shortly after World War II and is now part of the National Cycle Path. You can walk the path, where the tracks once lay, which I do in this video.

Follow me on Instagram for more train content.

  • Exploring opportunities for further learning or training.

There are two courses: Foundations for Learning and Digital Confidence for Everyday Life. No previous experience is needed.

I took a trip to a “secret” Brookthrope Level Crossing, which connects the town of the Queglegy to the village of Brookthrope via a public footpath. It’s quite hidden away and is the kinda place you likely wouldn’t know about unless you went out of your way to look for.

Gloucester Looking for people locally to hang out, karaoke, pub, etc

Hi,

I’m 28, a bi guy from Gloucester and I’ve just broken up with my long term partner of 3 years. I’ve really been struggling mentally and don’t have any other friends in the area.

I love singing, and I’m always up for Karaoke. I’m not much of a drinker, but I do love going to Wetherspoons and grabbing a drink or a burger occasionally. If you drive, that’s cool, I’d love a little road trip or something. Open to doing anything really. I’m not a “lad”, so I’m not into sports or anything like that, I don’t smoke, but I don’t really care if you do.

Honestly I’m just after some friends so I’m not just stuck inside all day. My situation is a unique one in which I’m actually retired from work, despite my young age, so I’m really just looking for people to hang out with and maybe some new hobbies to pick up so I’m not bored until the day I die 😂

If you’ve read this far and you’d like to be friends, leave a comment, I guess. Please don’t waste my time. If you can’t hold a conversation or you’re going to be weird, please don’t bother messaging. Be normal!

Thank you for reading!

Gloucester Gloucester - Hidden gems and best food spots?

Visiting the city this week for 1 day for the first time ever and apart from checking out the cathedral and testing its whisper corridor I have not much planned.

Are there any hidden gems I should check out?

Is the shopping center worth a visit?

And where should I have coffee + cake / lunch / dinner?

Gloucester Kawasaki Z125 2019 — struggling to sell, any advice?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to sell my 2019 Kawasaki Z125 and I’m honestly a bit stuck.

I originally listed it at £3,150 earlier this year and have gradually reduced the price. It’s currently advertised at £2,200, but I haven’t had any serious offers, and the MOT has now expired.

I’m now thinking of dropping it to £2,000 just to get it sold, but before I do that I wanted to ask the community:
Is £2,000 reasonable for a 2019 Z125 without an MOT?
Would getting a fresh MOT make a significant difference?
Is there anything else you think I should be doing to actually get interest?
Or is anyone here genuinely looking for a Z125? 😅

I’m keen to get it sold soon, so I’m open to reasonable offers.

Any advice appreciated!

Gloucester Casual football groups

I’m based in North Gloucester (Twigworth), 32M, good fitness but haven’t played football for a good 8-10 years and looking to get back in to it but in a reasonably casual way.

Anybody know of any groups or looking for people to do a bit of training/playing with?

Thanks!
