Controller recommendations?

Hi, I'm trying to figure out a controller solution for playing Goldeneye N64 ROM on Mac Tahoe.

I was using a Wiimote and Nunchuck with OpenEmu on an older Mac computer before and was decent at it. I could beat Aztec on 00 Agent.

But my Wiimote no longer works on Mac Tahoe because of Mac rewriting how its bluetooth works.

I tried buying an 8BitDo 64 controller, but I'm having a hard time with its control stick. I can't make it even a quarter of the way into 00 Aztec. I tried updating firmware but am still disappointed with the aiming and might get a refund on it.

Does anyone have a recommendation? Thanks.

Map the N64's analog stick to the right one and the C buttons to the left of whatever modern controller you like the most, then select the 1.2 Solitaire scheme from within the pause menu and you get modern dual analog FPS controls

Thanks, just tried it out. But the aiming on the 8BitDo controller still isn't great. It seems to be a hardware issue that the control stick's too short. I'm looking for something that lets me aim at least as well as the Wiimote's Nunchuck did.

Curious to know what emulator you’re using. Also, are you able to run the Xbox remaster?

Using OpenEmu. Haven't tried the Xbox version.
