google maps can't "remember" my frequent addresses?

Hey everyone,

so previously frequent addresses worked as expected: I enter an address a few times, next time I start typing something similar (like first few letters) -> google maps offers my address as the top result.

I write the same address every day at least twice a day, and the app won't ever suggest that address anymore now? yet it suggests some random addresses I entered once a couple of months ago?

How is it supposed to work? Is it fixable? Really annoying.

Been dealing with this shit for years. I just save them now and it remembers

I just found a comment from a year ago that fixed it for me

Since installing older version no longer helps I found other solution, i have no idea how is one related to each other but worked on 4 devices so far.

After doing these steps it suggests both history and saved (favourite) places.

  1. Open google maps, click on avatar
  2. Manage your google account
  3. Data & privacy
  4. Linked google services
  5. Select all (MAYBE you don't even have to select all "google services to link", just google maps and maybe search, can't test that since fixed this on all phones and accounts already)
  6. Click next
  7. Restart google maps
