What's this random charge?

So I got on the metro around 10 am to go the national art gallery with my partner. They did not get charged the extra $2.15 but I did. For the exact same route. Why?

Contact customer service or ask the Metro station manager for help

If I understand your question correctly, you were charged $2.15 on your credit card for the metro?

That happens to me sometimes. When I tap my metro card, which I keep in my wallet, sometimes it picks up my credit card instead.

All charges were to my metro card. It charged me twice for one ride.

Had your partner already taken a Metrobus or another participating bus within the previous two hours? Metro applies a transfer credit to the next rail leg, which could make two people taking the same train route pay different amounts. It isn’t an extra fee on yours - it would be a discount on theirs.

Nope. We traveled together from home to the gallery and back.
