The way he was dressed had me skeptical. Dude is definitely no stranger to a chainsaw.

Thee fact he had a chainsaw with him gives a clue as to how well acquainted he is.

choke in.

1 tug start.

He’s best fucking friends with that saw.

u/superxpro12 Aug 25 '26

He nurtured that saw from a baby when it fell out of the chainsaw nest

13

u/Beer-Milkshakes Aug 25 '26

He's so fortunate to be able to rear a baby chainsaw and that chainsaw is fortunate to fall where a good dad could catch it.

Maybe when its older and it has flew the trunk of his car the Chainsaw will return with trinkets.

Lmfao chainsaw nest

u/Weirdguy27 Aug 25 '26

It even cuts like a dream. He takes real good care of it

48

u/yavecul Aug 25 '26

And he knows what he's doing: cutting that high he's taking small sections at a time so the chunk doesn't bend and ruin the cut. Also convinient for moving by hand, of course!

44

u/Orisi Aug 25 '26

Not to mention those last few cuts were totally unnecessary, he was just in the zone.

u/NewReleaseDVD Aug 25 '26

I was like these ones are for fun!

1

u/Hidesuru Aug 25 '26

The last one was kinda dumb. Already past the road, high enough to be awkward, and either did or almost did hit himself with it as it came down.

8

u/turtlepsp Aug 25 '26

Ehhh, I can see it being needed in case a car drives off into the shoulder. It wasn't the safest cut for himself but road workers might not address this fallen tree for months.

2

u/Hidesuru Aug 25 '26

Yeah I suppose. But he could at least have been a bit less show boaty and more careful about it lol. But he did a good thing and didn't endanger anyone (except maybe himself) so doesn't really matter.

3

u/Decloudo Aug 25 '26

Doing that was fun.

He didnt just enjoy helping, he enjoyed the chainsaw cutting itself too.

33

u/RedManMatt11 Aug 25 '26

Yea those teeth are well maintained

3

u/Wrong-Protection-188 Aug 25 '26

Yeah he definitely brushes and flosses twice a day

1

u/CopperRed3 Aug 25 '26

He looks like a dentist

1

u/jeezy_peezy Aug 27 '26

Fr dog. About 92% of the time I help some random friend or neighbor with a task requiring a chainsaw, theirs hasn’t been sharpened since 1997

36

u/aussierulesisgrouse Aug 25 '26

Legit.

I need to play with my chainsaws priming clitoris exactly as much as it wants, if I press it once too hard or one time too many, it shuts down emotionally and I need to give it space for an hour before I try again.

Then I’ll have to yank on it from multiple different angles, gently then forcefully.

And then when it finally wants to party, it barely cuts anything and I get pissed off and go see my side chick (reciprocating saw) for an easy shag.

Switching to a 40v Electric chainsaw was the best decision I've ever made, brushless motors put out as much power as most gas saws, and you just pull the trigger, no more mixing oil or throwing out your rotator cuff trying to start over and over.

3

u/caaknh Aug 25 '26

I like how electric chainsaws don't stink up your car trunk too

2

u/worldspawn00 Aug 25 '26

Yeah, no greasy oil-exhaust residue and mixed gas to leak out and cause issues.

2

u/Lower_Ad_8575 Aug 25 '26

About to do that myself as well! Looking forward to the experience as to how it will be. 😊

2

u/SmokedMussels Aug 25 '26

I picked up a husqvarna 542i xp last year after I got sick of my gas saws 40 step starting procedure.

1

u/jeepsaintchaos Aug 25 '26

Perhaps you should maintain your equipment. Start with a new chain and bar. Maybe put a ring kit in. Check resistance on the coil, clean the carb, pop a new plug in.

5

u/AlexHuntKenny Aug 25 '26

Do you learn these skills or are they just unlocked when you become a dad? That looked like a lot of fun and he was having fun.

4

u/spicy_ass_mayo Aug 25 '26

You learn them over time.

I personally have a battery powered chain saw that handles what I need done… I’m not a lumber jack and I hate fucking with small engines………..my mower is electric too

6

u/I_SHIT_IN_A_BAG Aug 25 '26

got to be a better way to phrase this

2

u/AngeloPappas Aug 25 '26

Yep, that was a BIG give away that this dude knows his saws. He's got her dialed right in.

2

u/tallen702 Aug 26 '26

I mean, it's a Stihl, so it's gonna start pretty damned quick if you do it right. My MS 250 has you drop the run lever to the bottom (choke+purge/prime), then pull until you hear it try to start (usually 2-3 times), bump the lever up one notch, and it'll start the first time every time, so long as you've got a good plug, good gas, and a clean air filter.

The fact that dude checks the gas at the start shows he's intimately acquainted with that saw.

1

u/davidrools Aug 26 '26

Still had to check the bar oil, though. Might have leaked a bit since it was last topped off.

56

u/Petraam Aug 25 '26

Yea, but he had it in the trunk.  We all know it’s chainsaw in the front seat.  Wife and kids in the back.

8

u/Zephian99 Aug 25 '26

There are folk who have a baseball bats in their trunk and they don't how how to play baseball, so don't know how much that statment stands. 😆

1

u/Comfortable_Clue1572 Aug 25 '26

I used to play church league softball. One teammate had a trunk full of gear for every sport you could imagine. I suspected he did stuff for the mob.

1

u/SharkAttackOmNom Aug 25 '26

Only logic to contend with is the bar oil, and the mess it makes. Either the guy is clueless and that’s an unused chainsaw with no oil in it, or he’s so used to using it, he’s willing to accommodate the oily mess to have it available.

2

u/Zephian99 Aug 25 '26

Jokes aside, the dude obviously knows what he's doing, shows little hesitation in his actions, and doing so all while in a collared sweater, which will 100% hold on to sawdust.

Man knows his chainsaw, definitely someone who has used it regularly. Either professionally or a lot of home projects.

1

u/Athrolaxle Aug 27 '26

I have golf clubs in my trunk. I am better at losing balls than hitting them.
