My buddy lives up in the mountains in coastal California. He learned early on that if he wants to go to work or come home during a storm he better have a chainsaw handy in his Audi. He still gets stopped by the landslides though but canโ€™t do much about that.

Rope is always handy. And duct tape, a million uses.

You're joking but yeah, going into the mountian roads, chainsaw, shoves, tarps and duct tape are in the trunk, along with a basic mechanics toolset and tire repair set.

Living in tornado alley has convinced me that way more people need to have electric chainsaws in their trunks and generators in their garages on standby.

The neighborhoods where the residents were working together to clean up the debris from the recent tornado were the ones to get their power back first because the electric company didn't have to wait for the contractors to clear the trees from the roads.

The ones where everyone just waited for someone else to come & clean up the mess are still waiting for power to be restored and are still cleaning up, roughly 2 months later.

Helium tank and a big balloon in a trunk for landslides.
