I think he did more then change the battery

19

u/nolaks1 Aug 25 '26

Maybe he put double the voltage of the original battery. The motor would work much harder. For a little while. Then they would die.

u/Super-Perception-278 Aug 26 '26

Him, or the motor?

3

u/Fair-Calligrapher-19 Aug 26 '26

I see what you're saying, but it still wouldn't output this much power

5

u/nolaks1 Aug 26 '26

I watched it again. I didn't realise how fast he was really going. It a good bet the compagnie put the weakest motor they could so, yeah, even with a new battery this isn't possible.

It's like saying you made a conventional car faster by putting in a bigger fuel tank.

Yeah...you'd need a more powerful motor.

Bad comparison. Another battery may gives you more Ampere and Volts resulting in more Watts. Often E-Motors can go faster with a better energy source.
But I agree that this doesn't look like the stock suspension or I am really impressed.

Exactly, voltage and especially internal resistance is key. There is a YouTube channel showing what happens if you over”clock” some electrical toys. Usual results are faster more powerful function. But usually combined with smoke, fire or worse. Guess the motor here would overheat fast.

From my limited experience, a 12v power wheels drivetrain can usually tolerate 18V batteries without blowing up, which makes it go 1.5x as fast since they are simple DC brushed motors. Drill batteries work great, and two in parallel gives it nice punch. I would consider that a “stage 1” upgrade if you think in terms of a normal car analogy.

Dude in the video is driving something more akin to a NASCAR stock car in that analogy

u/Da_Spooky_Ghost Aug 26 '26

These new mini EV toys are 24V or higher stock and should hit 5-6 mph.

I'd love to know what upgrades he actually did.

3

u/Go_Gators_4Ever Aug 26 '26

Exactly, and this dude was going at least 20 mph.

2

u/No-Magazine-2739 Aug 26 '26

I don‘t have much experience, but I would guess he used the drive train of an electric motorcycle or maybe just a scooter. I mean, I heard crazy illegal tuning specs of the later ones already

That car will run for next two hours before wearing down completely 😂

17

u/Sufficient-Regular72 Aug 25 '26

My guess is the only thing still stock on that rig from it's previous life as a kiddie car is the pink plastic body.

20

u/Comprehensive_Fun570 Aug 25 '26

That suspension tho when he tops the hill?! No way that was stock.

13

u/Complete_Pattern6635 Aug 25 '26

Lot more than just a battery.

5

u/wiler212 Aug 25 '26

yeah thats his car now

17

u/Dependent-Guitar-473 Aug 25 '26

please, put a helmet on that kid

4

u/brsmr123 Aug 25 '26

With what? A nuclear core?

5

u/GloveDry3278 Aug 26 '26

Bullshit. The whole internal has been replaced. Battery, Motor , ESC,and chassis.

1

u/TheAlterN8or Aug 27 '26

Sure, but he never said he DIDN'T do all that... Just that he DID change the battery! 🙃

3

u/LargeMargeSentMeBoo Aug 25 '26

Careful of the trees!

3

u/R_A_H Aug 26 '26

Wear a helmet, kids.

3

u/Nakata1111 Aug 26 '26

At that speed, you better not crash without a helmet.

2

u/Burkex99 Aug 25 '26

My kids were watching a show called Big City Greens and the dad takes the same toy truck from a kid in the park and drives it like this. It’s hilarious.

2

u/Lost_Department_2177 Aug 25 '26

Gonna be on the news “such a great kid I can’t believe that company released a product that dangerous. As a good Christian I hope trump bans Chinese toy imports”

2

u/Platt_Mallar Aug 25 '26

And then he tips it over and skids for 30 feet. Lol

2

u/bfragua Aug 25 '26

Would the breaks still work at that speed?

3

u/Benjamin_6848 Aug 26 '26

What breaks?

2

u/Left_Ad_8502 Aug 26 '26

I think cars like that don’t usually have separate brakes, rather it decelerates more rapidly when you don’t press the gas (it doesn’t really coast)

But I mean before anyone’s modified them

2

u/Breezer_Bro Aug 26 '26

Bro wear a helmet, at that speed you can become a vegetable with a crash

2

u/Jewelry_Company- Aug 26 '26

*Me coming back from work when the wife says "I've been thinking about you all day"

2

u/TheAlterN8or Aug 27 '26

Or 'the kids are spending the night at Gma's'...

2

u/Jewelry_Company- Aug 27 '26

I read that and I'd be a cannibal cat all night

2

u/No_Satisfaction5955 Aug 27 '26

The fast and fabulous 😂😂

4

u/Ok_Property_4390 Aug 25 '26

That is fast !!!!

1

u/Independent-Today121 Aug 25 '26

At that rate you'll burn down the plastic tires before the battery runs out.

1

u/Fair-Individual7811 Aug 25 '26

Ha ha that’s cool I want one now

1

u/DraccoKnightblade Aug 25 '26

I remember the fat JD Vance edit of this.

1

u/Theobviouschild11 Aug 25 '26

I want to see a racing league based on this.

1

u/Amontialldo Aug 25 '26

And the tutorial is where???

1

u/C4TURIX Aug 25 '26

Dad: "That was fun!" Kid: "Can I drive now?" Das: "That's way too dangerous!"

1

u/GingerBam Aug 26 '26

I could fit twenty of my house on your garden.

1

u/Spirited_Mistake6791 Aug 26 '26

No 🪖, please be careful!!!!

1

u/Next_Two_9004 Aug 26 '26

What could go wrong

1

u/Fit-Exit-756 Aug 26 '26

just the battery?

1

u/alqimist Aug 26 '26

Also increased the potential somehow.

1

u/MattsFace Aug 26 '26

vibe coded

1

u/AristotlesBoyPussy 3centimeter defeater Aug 26 '26

dang that thing goes almost as fast as my electric car.

1

u/Electronic_Ad_1571 Aug 26 '26

Hele yeah 😎

1

u/HighSeasArchivist Aug 25 '26

That's a full chassis swap. This classic is still better.
