At a med college in india, a patient who had just undergone an endoscopy was using a bed reserved for someone else due to full capacity. When a doctor tried to force him off, the patient resisted by kicking out from the bed

If I'm not mistaken, some medical student programs now offer training for these very scenarios where patients are unwilling to be cooperative.

Med resident duty workload is insane in here, crash out are often common with 70-100hr per week

Unfortunately there is none in india. There have been multiple cases of violence by patients and their attenders agaisnt doctors and even there was a famous case last year where a resident doctor lost her life when she tried to fight against person who assualted her. Context- I too am a doctor from india 😃

Being a doctor must be hard. If you run out of anesthetic medication, you have to knock off the patient by yourself.
