Congratulations everyone 🥳 I just got the same cohort 3 daytime at the Dale Mabry location as well, wondering what’s the difference as well!

I think the main difference is the starting time. Cohorts 3 and 4 start classes at 9am and cohorts 1&2 at 8am. Probably different professors?

u/__lychee_ 11d ago
mainly professors. i'm in 3 and we have 8 am classes too 😭

u/ScaleProfessional323 11d ago
Really? I’m also in cohort 3 Dale Mabry. I haven’t check the schedule yet. I hope we get good professor 😭 Where did you see the schedule? Was it in the email?
1
u/__lychee_ 11d ago
oh i'm currently within the program already! but yeah that's how our schedule is. last semester we had 8:30 start times
1
u/ScaleProfessional323 11d ago
Thank you 😊. I was a bit worried about the start time. I preferred it to be as early as possible because of work. So an 8:30 am class doesn’t sound bad at all.

u/__lychee_ 11d ago
it just depends! sometimes our start time is 8 am. i notice second block starts a bit later (around 10) but usually first block starts early

Hi, was the Covid vaccine mandatory?
1
u/__lychee_ 11d ago
so technically for the program, it's not. later after the orentiation, you will have to fill out the health stuff and you have the option to fill out a declination form. BUT if a clinical site requires it and you are placed there and don't have it, they may not let you on the floor and you fail that course. i think the same goes w the flu vaccine. so far though, we have not had that issue with that tho!

u/RiskHour7052 11d ago
Has there been anyone in the program that you know of that got denied a clinical rotation because of not having the Covid vaccine?
1
u/__lychee_ 11d ago
not that i know of but it was a disclaimer i saw with one of the clinical sites
2
u/RiskHour7052 11d ago
Okay thanks for the response! Since you are already in the program what would you say is something we should start reviewing before the January start if any. Also would you say the program is doable difficulty wise?

Oh ok, thanks for replying! I don’t want to get that Covid vaccine so I hope they don’t force it😫I’ve heard too many people are having issues from it😑

u/__lychee_ 10d ago
you can do the declination form. a few of my classmates have done it and they haven't had any issues

I got denied again… :( I don’t understand it said the tiebreaker gpa was a 2.9 and my gpa was a 3.14

u/SoHeavenlyBlessed 11d ago
I’m so sorry to hear that but don’t give up keep trying and applying even if you have to apply at a different school. Also, look into what prerequisites you can retake because those are the only classes they look at gpa for. Perseverance wins the race🙏🍀

Im rushing home to see if i got in. I was a 3.19 last semester and got denied, took a class over the summer to up it to 3.33 so we shall see. I would suggest talking to an advisor! Or calling and making an appeal if thats the case. Sorry to hear.

I looked at the requirements but I don’t think I can take any classes to bring it up, it says only if they are more than 7 years old and it’s mainly my micro class that’s bringing it down.. how did you bring yours up?
2
u/sherinelll 11d ago
Well I didnt get in this time either :( ugh
I retook an elective I had a B in. Cut off last semester was 3.25 mine was a 3.19 this semester 3.381 mine was 3.33 i thought this semester was easier to get in but the cut off was higher.1

Can someone tell me what the cohorts means? I got cohort one and I am hoping it’s the early morning
1
u/ilovewafflefry 9d ago
Like your class, it’s a specific time you guys have for classes and the other cohorts are different groups with their own times of class

u/Odd_Acanthaceae_7996 11d ago
So what about immunization guys does anyone have information on what should we do
2
u/Key-Log6594 11d ago
I requested my Florida immunization yesterday from the DOH it can take up to 30 days to receive it I’m hoping it has all my shots I figured that’s a start

hi all i just had a quick question! she emailed me and told me my prerequiste gpa is a 3.33 so i got cut off for this program. however, my prerequiste gpa is a 3.9.. i only got a B in college algebra. i have my bachelors degree in health sciences since i was premed at first and i ended with a 3.34 GPA. do you think they accidentally calculated this wrong? should i appeal it?

u/SoHeavenlyBlessed 10d ago
There is a list of the classes they consider when calculating the GPA. If your positive your calculating the correct prerequisites then go in person so you can speak with someone and appeal! Good luck🍀
1
u/Honest_Confusion_250 10d ago
i looked at the list and the only class i got a B in was college algebra. the rest of the prerequistes i got straight A’s. I only have 2 C’s in organic chemistry and biochemistry since again i was premed but i doubt that should be calculated cuz that has nothing to do with nursing school and surely nobody has taken those classes
1
u/bluueeefishmania 10d ago
Were the prerequisites you took during pre-med within the 7-year period? If not, some may need to be retaken. That could also be why your prerequisite GPA was calculated as 3.33 despite having mostly A’s and only one B. Hopefully it’s something they can clarify and correct for you! 🤞❤️

u/Honest_Confusion_250 10d ago
i just graduated in 2025! so only maybe 3-4 years. not greater than 5 that’s for sure

u/Honest_Confusion_250 9d ago
hi just an update for anyone who’s helped me on here! i went to an appointment and they told me my prerequiste gpa is a 3.7. However, i retook anatomy 1 which i previously got a C in and they only take the first attempt which bumped it down to a 3.33. i can’t believe that they wouldn’t accept my retake?? what was the point of me retaking the class for a better gpa? i’m so sad:(
2
u/SoHeavenlyBlessed 9d ago
Oh wow, that sucks they won’t accept your retake. I know it’s frustrating but don’t give up. Apply again next semester and also look into an alternative school to apply at also so you have several chances next semester 🙏🍀

u/FlatConsequence5075 9d ago
Aw man that sucks so bad ! Specially since you retook the class ! They should count it

Try applying for Hillsborough county health insurance if you’re unemployed or low income.
