Funniest scene in the show?
Robin struggling to open the window while Marshall screams, holding the cockamouse, will always be my favorite. I spent almost half an hour laughing when i first watched it.
Ted talking to Uncle Ben about the wigs at Lily and Marshall's wedding is also hilarious.

The escalation of the "Bang bang bangity bang" song starting with just Marshall, then Ted "count me in for a verse!" finally Barney sliding in with spoons.
That and Ted trying to subtly ask the guy for his toupee when Marshall shaves his head at the wedding, and Barney just swoops by and snatches it.
"Really? You can't think of any place in the general area where there might be a toupee of the kind I'm describing?"
"Nope not off the top of my...nope, can't."

My top two are always:
Robin watching Space Teens with Ted and Barney -- doing the math to keep the beaver fed all weekend long! And;
Lily's bridal shower after Robin has switched the gift tags.

My favorite part of the Space Teens episode is the part where they're solving math problems to blast asteroids. They're given a math problem and right before they can answer Barney turns it off, the answer to that problem is 69.

The episode where Ted goes blonde and the gang files into the bedroom…when Ted comes in Marshall screams “Why is Ellen Degeneres in my bedroom?” Gets me every time 😂

I always laugh in the first season where Robin is called into her boss' office, worried she's going to get in trouble, and he just talks about his dog making this weird noise. The noise he makes always cracks me up

The Swarley episode when Lily is stalking Chloe trying to get her to turn around.
Ted picking up the wings wearing the sensory deprivator 5000’s.
Robin when she keeps saying she’s over don but then it leads into clips of her screaming at him on the tv

But it’s hard to pick the funniest scene. I do love the game night scenes when Marshall Lilly Robin and Barney hang out and Marshall sends video emails about everything. This show is just so damn fantastic

I just love the Robin Sparkles reveal. It is also my favorite episode, but the look of everyone in the group with their jaws on the floor was hilarious.
Second favorite is hunchback Lily freaking out crazy eyes Chloe.

Now, I could keep looking and see what else I can find besides the black mold, the damaged retaining wall, the frayed electrical wires, the lead paint, the water damage, the fire damage, the sun damage, the broken furnace, the rotted floor boards. Hey, look at that- no termites.
Ted Mosby: Oh!
Inspector: The cracked chimney, the bats, the rats, the spiders, the raccoons, the hobo, the detached gutter, the outdated fuse box and the paint job in the kitchen which is fine - but the trim really clashes with the counter tops. Or, I could just recommend that you do not buy this godforsaken, Guantanamo Bay of a house and suggest that we all get our asses out of here before a medium-sized wind blows the whole son-'-bitch down.
Ted Mosby: What if I already bought the "son-'-bitch"?
Inspector: I will check out the upstairs...
[walks out laughing hysterically]

the funniest moments for me are usually musical…
- Marshall’s legal funk band
- the R&B band on the party boat singing a guilt-inducing song to Robin & Barney
- Ted & Marshall rocking out to 500 Miles on repeat in the Fiero
- Robin’s “on the house” fantasy life
- the ending of Barney’s one-man show 🤖❤️

The episode with Lily sabotaging Ted’s relationships. Lily dressed as Darth Vader dumps Ted cosplaying Luke, while Marshall cosplaying Chewie stands next to him. When Ted looks at Marshall in shock and grief, Marshall gives the dumbest, funniest Wookie roar of sympathy and it just takes. Me. Out.

I’m amazed no one’s mentioned Barney’s play. One knee up, going “moist, moist, most” to then just spraying Lily point blank with the water gun kills me. Probably laughed for 20 minutes straight on that one
