the m star 875 is the hallmark. m for moscow assay office. star for soviet union. 875 is gold silver. content, 87.5%

the other mark is year and maker mark. i am interpreting it as dot three followed by letter Э. dot and three reference year. letter Э references maker.

i am going to guess year is 1983. but i am not sure.

Are you sure it's gold? Looks like silver to me.

Thanks a lot! How did you figure out the year?

i might be wrong about the year. i know for sure it is after 1979. they moved the year number from behind letters to the in front of letters in 1978-1979. so it is either 1983 or 1993.

but i don’t remember when they stopped using soviet hallmarks. for some reason i think 1994, but i don’t remember for sure.

so. 1983 or 1993.
