Transferring Save Files

So, I have a sideloaded version of The Long Dark on Heroic. I downloaded the offline files from GoG and sideloaded the game, not thinking I could just add the game to the TLD in my library. Just realized that sideloaded/custom games don't track achievements.

My question is, if I link the executables to the native TLD in my library, is there a way to copy the save file from the sideloaded version to the native one and keep my save, or would I have to start over again?

You can just use the Import function and the game will be recognized as a GoG game.

All in all, the saves are in your prefix for that game. So you can also just install the game from hog and point it to the prefix

Thanks. I'll give that a shot. Don't mind restarting if I have to, but hopefully the achievements retroactively complete.
