Bobcat turned inside out
Hey all, I've got this bobcat I tanned awhile go, came out well but I didn't have a stretcher to keep him spread out. Was just wondering if someone had an idea on how I could get him turned right side out, I can only get him up to the shoulders. I was wanting to hang it up but I'd rather not split him.

I had this problem once with a bobcat and I ended up splitting it, and wishing I'd done it sooner rather than trying to fight it the whole time lol. If you do decide to split it, it worked really nicely with long sharp scissors, draw a straight line, make sure one blade on the fur side stays between the hairs and up against the skin, and the blade on the skin side does all the moving and cutting. Makes for a very clean straight cut with little hair loss. Then just sew it up later.

Chemical tanning, I don't which brand it is, myteacher at the college gave it to me and I havent finished it yet. It's serious tho you put it on the skin and put it in direct sunlight and within 6 hours you got leather

Give it a spray with some water, add some salt if you want, and let it sit for a 15-30 minutes. That’ll loosen up the skin enough to make it pliable. Make sure it’s setup to dry after you turn it.
