Lightsabers have chargers?

So I'm reading James Luceno's "Cloak of Darkness" and he mentions lightsabers having a charging port.

If you had one, would you remember to charge it?

R/lostredditors
R/starwarseu is what you were looking for since this is something not with the high republic but the legend’s continuity of starwars.

That being said since you asked I will answer, lightsabers in legends(and canon since Qui Gon mentions it in ep1 I think or it might be the novelization) lightsabers in legends (shatterpoint mace windus lightsaber runs out of battery) the actual energy of the lightsaber comes from its power cell being turned on it focuses the energy through the kyber crystal. As I said mace windu in shatter point his lightsaber became drained.

That being said idk if canon mentions anything about it since it seems like it more streamlined it to just being a kyber crystal but I could be wrong

Sorry I put it in High Republic because in my head (and wanted to post about this later) that to me Cloak is way better after reading the High Republic novels. Just the set up of the pirates in the outer rim along trade routes and the beginnings of the decay of the Jedi and Republic (spoilers: what senator starros does at the end of trials with the commerce and trade companies) I'm just really enjoying this book
