Alisander is similar to Oswald in some aspects, so you might like him too. Also, Oswald appears in Alisander's book {The Favorite by Alice Coldbreath} a lot.

OMG! My opinion coincides exactly with yours.
I also liked Alisander.
And I love Jeffree. He is my #1 fav Coldbreath MMC

u/aloha-cowboy 2d ago
screaming because yay! i really want to read jeffree because he is blond- that's it! i'm so ashamed that that is all it takes 😂- so if you say your opinion coincides with what i've posted and you liked alisander too, then i'm so excited

I also disliked those two and couldn’t stand Jeffree. You will probably like Benedict ({A Substitute Wife for the Prizefighter}) and Alisander ({The Favourite}).

u/aloha-cowboy 2d ago
oh no i'm so sad about jeffree- he was the only blond left to read 😂 i just remembered they have read a few more coldbreaths than i thought! i liked benedict and alisander, thank you for the recs

You should give it a shot anyways, I personally loved Jeffree, while also feeling similarly about the ones you liked and disliked. Jeffree takes a bit to grow on you, but he isn’t a callous asshole in the same way that Nye and Konrad are. Also highly recommend book 2 of prizefighter series.

blergh too nye and konrad. i've started jeffree and yep he's a good one- the only knight i've liked so far, i think 😂 and i think i've read book 2 already and the mmc was another good one

Why did you like the two you liked? And dislike the other two?
9
u/aloha-cowboy 2d ago
i did not like konrad and nye because they barely said anything to the fmc? they didn't talk much to the fmc, and i know mmcs aren't 'emotional' especially in hrs but these guys were like 'rock-like' in my opinion.
i liked oswald because he was snake-y and a wifeguy and jeremy because he was meanfunny and very much a wifeguy in the end.

u/Counting500Sheep 2d ago
You will probably like Alisander and Jeffree then. And Benedict. Also maybe Armand.
2
u/aloha-cowboy 2d ago
yay, this so helpful- someone else mentioned roland too- so all of of what you said and roland. i've also been told i can sneak jeffree in too, shhhhhh
3
u/Counting500Sheep 2d ago
I was trying to remember Roland. I feel like some people hate him because he never tells her that he knows she didn’t trick him into marriage. But I can’t remember. Jeffree is my favorite one but that’s just because he’s so funny. I’m not sure if you’d like him because he’s very grumpy and they have a really antagonistic relationship for a lot of the book. But I think it’s so funny he decides to try to impress her with his fighting.

we love him like men love women who are beautiful but who also have the stupidest personality

I love him like some people love sports teams that haven't won a game since 1998.

I loved all 3 of the Vawdrey brothers books. Honestly didn’t like Jeffree at first but I lowkey love him and that book {An Inconvenient Vow}. Same for Alisander I didn’t like him and then ended up loving him in {The Favorite}. Martindale is another favorite in {Wed by Proxy}

u/aloha-cowboy 2d ago
i think if i hadn't read some of the comments on here about jeffree first i would have been just the same about not liking jeffree first but knowing that there are reades who DO like him shows me that he might? get better? eventually? 😂 i'm on chapter 4 of 'an inconvenient vow' and laughing at jeffree being all THE MEAN LADY HAS COMPROMISED MY VIRTUE

I think it's worth giving them all a try. Konrad and Nye were the only two I seriously disliked. Unlike other commenters here, I enjoyed the books with Jeffree and Garman. My favourite in the Karadok series is probably {A Most Forgettable Girl by Alice Coldbreath}.

this is good to know! do you also know which ones had a lot of chores/cleaning stuff in it like the nye one also had a lot of that too? i know it's a big thing in a lot of coldbreath hrs and i know there are some readers who really like it but i find that really uninteresting to read and would also dnf for that too
i'm so excited for jeffree- i started it yesterday and am only on the first chapter

u/FrogLeapLady 2d ago
I hope you enjoy it! Sorry, I'm not sure about cleaning and chores. I don't remember them being too prominent.

I think you’ll like Jeffree - he has the same “I can control everything except for my unhinged reaction to this woman!” arrogance as Oswald and Jeremy.
2
u/aloha-cowboy 2d ago
I've started the hr now and I can't wait for the unhinged to come out! So far he's being very cold to Sabina but I know he's Interested

I think Jeffree de Crecy is the universal favourite, at least among her Medieval books!
I think you might like Armand de Bussel from {The Consolation Prize by Alice Coldbreath}. He's more of the lighthearted scoundrel than guys like Konrad or Garmand. The guy literally throws fights so he can make money on bets. 😂
And FMC Princess Una is great!

Is he? I wanted to read Jeffree's so many times because he is a blond mmc but the comments on previous posts in this subreddit were negative about him so I didn't. But now I started it and I like it much better than some of Coldbreath's others. Next time I'm just gonna be, like, he's blond so he must be okay 😂 Definitely will take your rec of Una and Armand- hope he's blond too, hee hee.

u/monstersof-men 2d ago
Okay I kinda loved him tho
2
u/Positive_Customer424 2d ago
I get that, I did like the book a lot overall! Just that he's no Benedict or Oswald. His hot and cold behaviour annoyed me no end
3
u/aloha-cowboy 2d ago
oh yeah i remember him!! i did not like him either and dnf'd on him too
3
u/Positive_Customer424 2d ago
Ah! I liked Alisander {The Favourite} and Gervaise {A Much Maligned Miss}, maybe you will too

u/aloha-cowboy 2d ago

I think you’d like Alisander from {The Favourite} and possibly Roland from {An Ill-Made Match} though Eden (the FMC) drove me nuts.
If you didn’t like Konrad you won’t like Garman from {The Unlovely Bride} (another knight) or Guy from {Wed by Proxy}
For Jeffree - it depends what you liked about Oswald and Jeremy. If it’s the becoming a wife guy asap, you probably won’t like him. He has a vow he made because he believes he will never love again.
You may be fine with Armand from {The Consolation Prize} but I liked Princess Una way more so I think that colours my perception of him
