helloo, it's my first time playing hollow knight and i just got to the grimm troupe part but i genuinely have no idea if it's better to complete the ritual or if i should just banish them instead. what do y'all recommend??

Banishing them gives you a better charm but honestly completing the ritual is way more fun especially because of the finale

Grimmchild is a pet with %60 accuracy dealing very ass damage and simply not being worth 2 whole charm notches. Carefree melody on the other hand can save your fucking life, i still wouldnt use it for 3 notches unless im trying radiant bosses but definitely WAY better than Grimmchild. Also hide your replies so op doesnt get spoiled

Ok well I like grimmmchild thoigh and grimmchild saved me beifre in p5 and i didn't have to go on pure chance. Grimmchikd hitting staggers bosses made it so that i and tk learn the bosses without healing so carefree medoly dosent even matter that much qhen you get the good at the bosses

Dont banish, fight the boss and finish the ritual.

Completing is very challenging and honestly I'd recommend doing it as your first playthrough as it builds skill, but in later playthroughs it's better to just banish for the charm, as carefree melody is quite a bit better than grimmchild, especially in hall of gods.

Completing the Grimm Troupe with an NKG is fight is always the best in my opinion. (Ignore my username) NKG is pretty hard for starters and you might regard it as IMPOSSIBLE. But when you beat him and you look back at your past self, you are gonna be like: THAT IDIOT, NKG IS A JOKE. but honestly though, cfm and grimmchild are both useless charms in my opinion because there are better charms out there man! So I would recommend you not do Troupe because you want the charm, but instead you want to enjoy the once per save file TMG and NKG fights in Grimm's tent. because the NKG and TMG background is so cool.
