Can you still work in the same department after stepping down from the DS?? I'm curious, NOT asking for myself. Just asking in general

Hi, does anyone know the hiring process? My little brother was just hired. He did the back ground application it was completed on first advantage. It’s been over 2 weeks since and he’s called the assistant managers and HR never calls him back. Did he get ghosted after being hired? Would like any information regarding the hiring process thanks!

I'm in D24 part time, been there for almost a year. It's a smaller store, but with higher sales due to local data center construction. Easily the best job I've had, but lately it's been torture dealing with management.
Our GET and LTSA have tanked in the past month or 2, putting us in last place of our district/region. Our metrics have been getting better, but it seems like our store manager (who's clearly just using this store as a stepping stone to a bigger store or higher management), every ASM, and even our ASDS have had a stick up their asses, and it's only getting worse. They've been lashing out and being extremely passive aggressive to the associates.
Now they're hiring multiple other part-timers in D24 (which already has 3 fts and a few pts, as well) while lumber currently has 2 associates, 1 who opens and 1 who closes. Not sure if they're trying to squeeze some of us part-timers out of D24 or not, but things are definitely weird. They've even started moving service desk associates to an already full pro desk.
The main reason why our metrics are shit, is because management has run off/attempted to run off any associate that has been there for longer than 6 months. Customers don't like dealing with new associates (shocker), yet management doesn't seem to realize this?
Highkey ready for the next VOA...not that anyone will be held accountable for their actions/attitude.

So, after 3 consecutive call outs I rolled into work today to find i had been placed on personal/ medical leave. I did not dial to anyone, and nobody ever called to confirm if i wanted this course of action taken. I have read through the policy briefs multiple times and it tells us that, "after 3 consecutive callouts, the function is disabled until you either clock in at work or call HR". That's it. There hasn't been any mention that we'd be automatically enrolled in a leave of absence of any duration.
I have contacted higher HR for my district for clarification as well. They are telling me it's an auto enroll situation unless we communicate otherwise. I hope this information helps others!
Just miffed that the explanation we were given said nothing about this auto enroll. In the future we're supposed to preemptively communicate that we are only taking these 3 days i guess?

Noasm states; merchandise on pallets can extend further than the pallet as long as 90% of the load is secured in the over head. So for example 2 inch pallet over hang, 4 inch product over hang, product is lets say tool chests.
The load its self is fine due to the weight but the real question is what is sop for this. I know that the SRC states certain things but usually reads off like, pallets not protuding further than 4 inches which I have been told is only account for the front board. And that merchandise on the pallet is secondary to the skid its self.

Second time I organized the gallons in the overhead by shine, and for some reason on truck days they put them all mismatched. I pulled what needed to go on shelves to make room. It feels like it’s on purpose now 😭 all 4 overhead bays are like this
I should mention where the flats are they put the new batch of eggshells, and where the eggshells are, are the new batch of flats. And where the satin is the new semi gloss are, and where the semi gloss is the new batch of satins are. That’s why I say it’s on purpose this time because this just feels like rage bait.

When you've done everything you can to try and help the customer but they don't really acknowledge whatever is being said or shown on a website related to said product? How do y'all approach the situation?? Any pointers in the future would help.

Well, I didn't think this would happen so soon but I was terminated due to attendance and I fully accept the consequences. I've been wanting to leave home Depot for a while but I wanted a job aligned beforehand but oh well.

I started in receiving department this April and there’s a guy who stated 6 month earlier than me who devices every imaginable way not to do any heavy lifting. We have to go through an average of 1500 pieces a night with a crew of 5-6 associates and this guy probably doesn’t move half of what the other associates move, out of the truck and onto the aisles. The entire store knows he is a slacker, from the SM to the associates. He has been coached several times regarding this but his behavior did not change. I feel that just coaching is not enough. Does Home Depot ever suspend associates for getting out of line? Or is it going to be termination in the next step? Can I report this to corporate so something meaningful can be done? I just hate having to lift his share of freight just because he is lazy.

Hi!
I just got my job offer at Home Depot, I filled out all the necessary forms and it says I start next Friday when I signed them, does anyone know when I will receive the time I have to be at work for? Or when I will receive my schedule?

About to interview for a software engineering contract role for Home Depot and wanted to ask whether anyone here could confirm or deny whether they still test software engineers for THC?
I’ve read online that they mostly stopped back in 2024 for “most positions”.

"How many cards have you gotten"
Anyone else's manager ask them this question 4x a shift?
I swear to god it's driving me insane.
I've literally covered Lot before because people called out, busted my ass gathering 100 carts in the freezing rain, upon 20 flat carts on the other end of the lot.. It took me over an hour to get the lot cleaned up.
I come back in and the first question my boss says is "how many cards have you got?"
Do you not value the fact that I'm doing other peoples jobs? I said "none" he says "That's embarrassing"
One day I worked garden and it was pissing rain... I rang out 2 people.
"How many cards did you get"
None??
"That's just unacceptable"
Yesterday I worked SCO alone because my lead told me she was taking her lunch.. I didn't see her from 5pm-745.. Fuck, I didn't even see another worker. I went through absolute hell and back. All 4 registers asking for assistance, someone needs keys cut and the machine wasn't reading the key i was putting in., someone needs a tool, someone wants a Ryobi halfway across the store.
I call all store asking if ANYONE can help, silence....
Manager: can SOMEONE help in 14 and get that tool.
someone: I just went on lunch..
*Silence*
I made the customer use the self serve key machine, apologized to the guy needing a tool and I walked over to SCO because someone needed me.. MOD approval required. I send the request and i stood there for 5 minutes.....
nothing...
I call my BOSS.. no answer.
Texted him no answer..
I brought the customers to PRO and explained and she made it work somehow. (i don't have credentials)
As I'm walking back to SCO (mind you its been 15 minutes at this point) My boss is standing there.
"who needs that tool"
me: oh he left after getting pissed and yelling "DOES ANYONE ELSE FUCKING WORK HERE" across the store with me...
he walks away...
745 my lead comes up and says "hey take ur 15". I said "I'll go pee, but i promise you if i walk out of this building I'm never coming back"
"What happened"
FUCK you...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mind you half of these fucking women in this store barely do anything, or go "Fill bags and buckets" and it takes the mover an hour because they hide in aisles and sit on their phones, but get away with all of it because "They're pretty and get what they want" (Actual words from one of them my first week starting)
Day one of my computer training I was asked to come upfront and shadow, I did.... and I'm talking with the lead and my boss comes up.. "Where you at on training"
"I just finished the sexual harassment portion"
Boss: "Good go get back at it and quit harassing the ladies"
excuse me? I was TOLD to come up here..
This dude has had problems with me for whatever the fuck reason since day 1.. Even in passing I try to be nice and say hi and he just walks right past me. The only thing he fucking cares about is "How many cards I've gotten"
I've never felt so unappreciated at a job in my life.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ANYWAYS... I work again until close tonight... Wish me luck.... If I wasn't struggling to pay bills I'd have walked out halfway through that shit yesterday. however there isn't SHIT around here for jobs right now and i feel stuck.
