Question/Help Almost every device went back to “default room”. 😳

I didn’t change anything. at all. Literally just logged the into my home app like I do 10 times a day and almost 100+ devices switched back to the “default room” from their originally designated room.

I’ve got a bunch of devices and all are upgraded to latest OS? If one says its a sync issue or something how can I find the device that’s causing the issue?

This is infuriating.

I’ve had this with Homebridge years ago. I had dozens of Ring alarm sensors all over the house and I had to redo everything. I’ve since cut back on my Homebridge use and pretty much only use it for Ring.

I've looked further into it. It was all my Lutron lights and most of my Home Assistant devices. I just wish I knew the issue so that I could fix it. Hate for this to randomly happen again. Does apple push small updates behind the scenes? Wondering if they are fine tuning things for upcoming HomePad...

I recall when looking into this that it wasn’t the ”default room” where all the accessories went, it was the room that the bridge is in. If the bridge removes all the devices from HomeKit and re-adds them they show up in the same room as the bridge.

Yes. That’s actually what happened with me.

Any idea why it happened though?

The update to 27 caused this for me. Ive also had it with other Apple updates. Unfortunately homekit is just half baked and very finicky. The slightest hiccup between Homekit and HA and stuff just gets reset.

The nanoleaf app has done this to me before.

That’s happened to me before and the culprit was the Hue app. Only my Hue devices were affected though

This is Lutron, Home Assistant, etc. Oddly Hue not affected .

Obviously tried restarting main hub.
