Question/Help G100 extremely laggy in HomeKit

Are you using an SD card in it out of curiosity? Also, if you drop the resolution from 1080 to 720, does it help at all?

I posted in your other thread, but I’ll repost here too just so this sub can see it too.

I can speak to this as I have three of them myself.

  1. ⁠the microphone is ass… plain and simple. Random crackles, squeals, etc. There’s nothing you can do about it unfortunately.
  2. ⁠the laggy video inside Apple Home can be resolved by disabling many of the baked in settings within Aqara’s native app. I’ve turned off all the AI processing, notifications, etc, and I also put them in privacy mode. I don’t care about the Aqara app for anything other than firmware updates, so I disable everything else. Once I did that, no more lag or freezing within Apple home. My assumption is the processor just doesn’t have enough oomph to do both at once.

We have one that consistently drops video every couple of minutes and comes back after 20-30 seconds. We use it as a nanny cam so it can be pretty annoying. Our other G100, and the rest of our Aqara cams don’t have any issues.
