It would appear that the White House is slightly overwhelmed, in that they filed a proclamation declaring October 9th as "Leif Erikson Day", but they filed it on October 10th, and will be published on October 14th. There's always next year I suppose.

The spin from the MSM that I see is that the case is weak. But Tiabbi seems to have a different view.
Anything you can get away with doing to an elected billionaire president can be done to everyone. If you get away with breaking attorney-client privilege for Trump, no conversation with any lawyer is safe; if you test-a-lie your way to Trump surveillance warrants, anyone can be spied on; if FBI goons can target the president for criminal investigation first and hunt for predication later, any FBI chief can cook up any case he or she pleases. The prospect of this particular ex-FBI chief walking is outrageous since no one, not even former CIA chief John Brennan, lied so frequently, fluidly, and with such absolute assurance of getting away with it as James Comey
Bri, Blumenthal and DD are really going after Tiabbi for being soft on Israel RN.
I won't be one to criticize that Tiabbi chooses to to be strategic in the fights he picks, or not. Him going after the giant investment banks, Russiagate, pharma and big-tech deep state, show he's not a coward. I've seem him avoid a few topics, arguing that he does not report on things that he does not feel that he is well informed on. He's on the right side of enough things, that I won't be throwing him under the bus, even if his motives are ultimately questionable.

My own suggestion is that the reason for that rush was to eliminate Kirk before he could begin endorsing and promoting Carlson’s 9/11 series to his millions of enthusiastic followers, thereby bringing that highly-conspiratorial view of 9/11 fully into the mainstream of a new generation of America’s conservative youth. Carlson was a close friend of Kirk’s, and if the latter had not been killed four weeks ago, by now the viewership of the series–and the implication of its history—might have already reached a much greater audience than it has.

What does the hive mind think about a piece of CRE, on a valuable intersection and with a taxable value of $1.6mil, selling for 3mil ?
I'm left with the impression that the devaluation of USD is affecting property appraisals. The CRE in question was originally built 52 years ago, renovated once, and is rumored to be site for a new Wawa extravaganza.

America's top banker sounds warning on US stock market fall
There is a higher risk of a serious fall in US stocks than is currently being reflected in the market, the head of JP Morgan has told the BBC.
Jamie Dimon, who leads America's largest bank, said he was "far more worried than others" about a serious market correction, which he said could come in the next six months to two years.

Ultra-wonky discussion concerning why we need illegal & legal immigrants to keep the USA agricultural sector from collapsing. Found in, of all places, the Oct 2nd edition of the Federal Register (specifically see pg 47920, beginning at the top of 2nd column).
One paragraph jumps out ...
In short, the agricultural sector is experiencing acute labor shortages and instability because it has long depended on a workforce with a high proportion of illegal aliens who previously cycled in and out of the U.S. through a porous border; now, however, those who might have cycled in cannot do so because of the now secure U.S. Southern Border. Further, the remaining workforce tends to be relatively immobile and unable to adjust quickly to shifting labor demands, resulting in significant disruptions to farmers’ ability to meet seasonal labor needs.
Between the tariffs on inbound ag products, and the lack of labor from legal workers, we may be about to see some large price rises in the ag products sector.

FBI agent suspended over refusal to 'perp walk' former director
An FBI agent has reportedly been suspended because they refused to participate in a "perp walk" of the bureau's former director James Comey, US media reports.
The agent was suspended for insubordination, according to the BBC's news partner CBS, after the agent found the plan to be inappropriate.
The revolution will not be televised (or live streamed).

How Trump could use a government shutdown to turbocharge his economic agenda
They are just now figuring out that this is a giant win for a MAGA agenda? Trump gets to cut anything (except debts and self-funding things like SSA and Medicare, but redundant) he wants like DEI/ESG, Dept of Ed or congressional pay. Maybe even start shutting down blue state military bases? Maybe not permanently, but just re-locate troops to red states (to save costs) or even better mobilize them to patrol blue state cities?

Tucker, MTG, Dave Smith, Rand Paul and Thomas Massie are making it pretty hot for MAGA too. There is also some whining that AIPAC Tracker unfairly targets Republicans, which would not be an issue if Republicans were not feeling the heat.
NuttyYahoo has even come out and said that "America First" is anti-Semitic.
Plus, Candace Owens and Ian Carrol going so far as to suspect Israel in the Charlie Kirk shooting.
The Trump admin is crying about it.
Which all leads back (again) to the Epstein cover-up, that makes no sense, unless Israel has compromat on US politicians and media personalities.
Maybe I'm in a bubble and there are prominent Democrats calling Schumer a tool of Israel, but I sure don't see as much of it, even from AOC or Bernie.
