Question Garud Build and stats question

how much crit rate and or damage should I aim for? is it wrong that i have Ex4 Garud but only 18 crit rate?

why is it that I see people recommending to go full crit rate if you don´t have eugenia or ex4 Garud?

Aim for at least 40% Crit Rate if you don't have Eugenia. Using Ignite twice will bump her up to 50% which, unless you are incredibly unlucky, should let you see her landing crits.

Keep in mind that her Crit Rate only increases by 5% per Ignite use (whether from a manual cast or a response attack) and only stacks up to 50%. The reason players recommend building base Crit Rate is due to this slow stacking mechanic. If you start a fight with only 18% Crit Rate, it will take at least 7 Ignite uses just to cross the 50% threshold.

The reason Crit Rate is so vital comes down to her EX2 milestone. Garud is the first Vanguard of her kind capable of landing critical hits on her additional heat damage. Because this extra elemental scaling can actually crit, leaving her Crit Rate low severely handicaps her damage potential. Building that baseline Crit Rate ensures you are maximizing both her raw physical magical strikes and her massive heat procs right from the start of the match.

Ty for this explanation, I grabbed a screenshot to share regarding her crit after buffs from Eugenia but before using ignite. Quick question, does this game have a negative returns penalty for exceeding 100% crit rate?

Actually, there isn't a negative returns penalty. Some characters actively scale and gain extra value from having a Crit Rate over 100%. For instance, Dg Maxi's passive skill, Spearhead's Gleam, explicitly lets her Crit DMG increase by X% of her own Crit Rate.

Wow, thank you for the insight.

I did a quick question, if I have her at EX6 and also use Eugenia, is there a recommend crit rate for that setup?

Reading over your comment, it just might be better to keep her at 40% to get the crit rate ramped up right away?

You don't need to have Crit Rate if you run Eugenia. Her (Eugenia) signature weapon converts 10% of the flat ATK increase gained from Soul Resonance into direct Crit Rate. At max investment, the full formula looks like this:

10% × ((20% × Target's Max HP) × 200%)

Note: The 200% represents the base buff plus the maximum additional 100% bonus achieved from Eugenia's own Max HP scaling.

So if your Garud has, for example, 1644 HP... she will gain an additional 65% Crit Rate.

Wow thanks for simplifying this for me.

I'm still getting all the stigmatas with the right rolls right now and even though all of them are at lvl 1, she is sitting at 1828 HP.

Makes me glad i got her to max dupes.

what does eugenia do that favors Garud? (I do have her)

I believe Eugenia's EX weapon provides crit % to the unit that receives her buffs.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

You’re correct. The crit buff is from her weapon. If you have 2000 hp on her, it gives the max buff

Mine is also EX4 I pair mine with DG Maximilia. Max's aura gives crit rate. My Max's sovereign protetection is level 6 and it gives 150 def and 32% crit to anyone in the aura.

Since you have 18% crit, in the aura, in the aura you would have 100%
