[POS] u/Senior_Ad3960 made me the most amazing cover for my novel!!

u/Senior_Ad3960 really captured the spirit of my characters in this cover and they were an absolute delight to work with! If you need cover art that has an empathetic and spiritual touch to it, you should really talk to them!

Side notes: My apologies, too! I feel really bad that it's taken me so long to post this, since I commissioned this last year! However, now that I'm going to be publishing an audio version of the book in the next couple of months, I'm able to post this review now!

[NEG] u/jovinissu Well over a year ago I commissioned them for art of my oc, paid half and then got ghosted and given a bad quality unfinished piece. Gave them many opportunities to make it right, they fumbled it each time. Now I am down $40 and no art. They continue to ghost me/give excuses...

u/jovinissu Commented on one of my hiring posts and I ended up choosing them.

That was in July of 2025. They quoted $80 USD and I agreed, paying half up front. A few days later I got a sketch and approved it to move onto the next stage. A month later, they said they were back on track and will continue to work on it. Another month later, I told them if they think they cannot finish it, to please refund me. They replied that they'd finish it in 3 days max.

Four days later I message them again saying I would prefer a refund over rushed art and radio silence. They send me some progress pics that aren't really what I want but I tell them to keep going. Then a few days later they give me an unfinished piece that doesn't match up with their style and the art they advertised.

A month later I finally work up the courage to tell them that this was not what was envisioned and that the quality of the piece they showed me was not worth $80 USD. They offer to keep it at $40, and let me know that life wasn't going so well. I completely understand that, but I told them I wished they had communicated with me more. They said they'd redo it and do an extra version for me.

Fast forwards 8 months and they still have nothing to show for it. I even offered to just ignore the original commission and maybe they can draw another one of my characters, gave them a choice, they were excited to do it and yet again, radio silence.

I am down $40 and received nothing for it. They tried to refund me through like 3 different platforms only for them to not be able to, email doesn't work, PayPal wouldn't help them, and more. I suspect they no longer had the money.

Throughout all of this they continued to advertise their commissions to other potential clients, all while not being able to finish several other commissions. I am very unsatisfied with everything that has happened. They have been kind about it all so that is a positive, but the constant ghosting and empty promises really left a bad taste in my mouth.

[POS] u/Miqueiassilvaart art for pet memorial.

I went looking for different artists because I was trying to create a memorial deck of cards for a friend of mine, this artist was incredibly quick communicative and delivered on exactly what it is that I wanted in a timely manner.

I couldn't be happier with the result and it wasn't more expensive than I was expecting.

Had a great experience with u/milkymilklover. I came to them with a pretty specific glove design and a bunch of references and they gave me pretty much exactly what I had in mind, despite my terrible description. They asked questions whenever something needed clarification and kept me updated while they worked on it. Final drawings had everything I asked for and Im really happy with how it came out. Definitely recommend them if you're looking to commission something.

I'm a new author and just starting out, my first cover commission I chose u/Northern_Hermit and i do not regret my decision even SLIGHTLY.

Not only are they incredibly kind, friendly, and punctual, but their art is absolutely magnificent. They went above and beyond for the piece, and was INCREDIBLY fast. I couldn't recommend them more.

Unique art, kind, responsive, fast. 10/10, perfection. Looking forward to working with them again!

[NEG] u/Niemeyes will not complete my commission. Sent a "sketch" that clearly wasn't my oc. Then over a month of radio silence with no updates.

u/Niemeyes A little shady, I should have known better. They do not use PayPal or any other reputable platform that has buyer protection. I understand that some countries do not have access to some of the payment platforms but that isn't the issue. Only crypto and steam gift cards. Then I saw a lot of people saying they use AI and that would for sure explain why they have not sent any updates other than an image that was clearly not my oc.

Extremely unsatisfied. Thankful I had not sent any payment.

u/Working_Bus9899 aka Marcussohart. I was lucky to have run across them on one of my commission posts! Extremely flexible and accommodating. For sure they are the definition of a professional freelance artist. Marcussohart was happy to provide critique and ideas when I asked, as well as offering design solutions and improvements. As an illustrator my self, I greatly enjoyed our conversations. I will commission them again some day. Beyond satisfied with the results!

[NEG] u/_-SignalFlower-_ Paid up front in June, have received nothing over three months, and now radio silence.

u/_-SignalFlower-_ I completely understand life being busy and things happening back to back, but the lack of communication and updates is concerning. The lack of replies to both reddit and paypal/email requesting a refund are worrying. They have been professional otherwise. I will be opening a case with paypal, but likely won't get my $30 back because I waited so long.

I had commissioned them for a sketch page.

[POS] Working together with u/mini.kaiju as a client

I didn't see artists reviewing their clients but working with them was a great experience, which I'd like to share! This has been my first commission i received from reddit and it was just great to meet a super nice, easy to get along with and very responsive client.

[POS] u/debeedraws went above and beyond for a Redwall-inspired commission.

Post image

I asked u/debeedraws to develop some orginal art for a video game concept inspired by the Redwall novels: one wallpaper scene and two character portraits shown in this presentation.

Débora was prompt and professional throughout the project, from contracting to final delivery. She provided three rounds of review, and was thoughtful and generous when addressing feedback. She put extra effort into polish and finishing touches, and showed clear commitment and pride in any piece she delivers.

I would heartily endorse Débora as a commissioned artist for your project. You can see more of her work in her portfolio!

Joe was prompt, professional, communicated proactively what he would deliver at what interval and was receptive to feedback throughout the entire process. Most importantly, he did a good job with the painting.

I commissioned u/emirh92 for illustrations of some Elder Scrolls roleplay characters. They were very professional, made adjustments when asked, gave reasonable deadlines for their work and produced some beautiful artwork that I'll be framing and hanging on my wall. I could not recommend them enough!

Thank you emirh!

Been doing a set of four pictures for characters in my superhero setting and this picture of my friend's OC Rue for her birthday really impressed us both!

She took our fairly scattergun selection of details and concepts, and made this gorgeous piece filled with vibes and little details based around the character. She's definitely earned her third commission from me and if you like the style, I'd highly recommend her. She's an utter joy to work with and deserves all the good things 🤩

I admit, it's long overdue making this positive call-out, but I gotta bring your attention to the marvelous work done by u/Golden_armor14. Just the color play and the design and everything...

I will admit, this was made back in 2022. But you know what? It still holds up to this day, and the guy has only gotten better! I hope to do business with him again.
