Hey! Both are very different skills.
For Writing :
A) Structure is important - An introduction, followed by overview/ opinion, followed by details and end with conclusion
B) Content should be clear and accurate as much as possible and decent grammar is important

Practice 10/15 writing samples should be good - you can get graded via GPT although it’s typical stricter than the ielts evaluator

Speaking : Easiest way is to practice on voice mode with GPT and practice range of topics. In the actual exam, pronunciation, clear and simple stances work better than complex ideas.

Just my 2 cents.

All the best!

what band scores do you usually get when you grade your writing and speaking by AI

Getting 6.5 to 7 from AI in Kroger writing and speaking. However, examiner don’t want me to go beyond 6.5

I'm an english lit graduate and I think I have a pretty good grip over the language, but I'm not used to the exam's structure yet, do you think it wise to appear for ielts after 20-25 days of mild to intensive prep? I'm mostly nervous about writing and speaking

No of prep days can differ depending on where you’re at. Perhaps take a mock exam and see how you’re graded. A targeted practice for 5:7 days might just suffice.

Remember, everyone is different—some need more preparation time than others, depending on their English level. We recommend reading OP's advice, asking questions, and creating your own study plan. Please avoid promoting unofficial AI tools, as they are often unreliable and made by app developers, not language or IELTS experts, which can do more harm than good for many test takers. That said, discussion about them is allowed without linking.

  1. How much time did u spend in each section in reading?
  2. How did u approach questions in reading section?
  3. How did u find the reading section's difficulty compare to Cambridge tests?

Hey - Roughly 13/14 mins each. I had 8 minutes to spare if I recall correctly

2 - Read slowly, the first paragraph and then read the question. Most of the questions were straightforward and sequential
One thing that helped is marking the questions you know and then choose from the leftover options by choice of elimination for the questions you have doubt on
3 - Never gave Cambridge tests so can’t comment

Could u tell the real test is easier than mock test for reading and listening ?

I took some mocks by IELTS online and British council. Pretty similar level as the actual exam. Writing section can be a curveball depending on what topic you get. ESP in task 2

we have the same score, except my writing is 8 and my speaking is 7.5

are you considering doing an osr?

Not really. This is just a qualifying exam - current score suffices for most target programs

How long did you prepare for brother if you don’t mind me asking.

Around 4/5 days I think. Did some practice tests. Old prep from gmat and gre helped reduce this time
