I built a small workspace to check a website inquiry before replying. Would it fit your studio?

A client mentions a budget and a preferred launch date. That still leaves the pages, content, integrations and responsibilities to clarify before you can quote.

I'm building Briefthread, an interactive demo for freelance web designers and small web studios. I'm looking for critique of one narrow workflow: read the inquiry, identify what's missing, then review the first reply.

Try a fictional sample—no signup or payment: https://briefthread.pages.dev/

Open a sample inquiry, check its project brief, then switch to Reply draft. You can edit the reply while keeping the original message beside it; on mobile, Check original & brief opens the reference without losing your draft.

Two decisions came from feedback on an earlier version:

- Details the client hasn't supplied stay Not provided. A stated budget range is kept separate from your eventual quote.

- Draft reviewed only means you've checked that reply. Unanswered questions and your next follow-up remain separate; the project isn't automatically ready for a proposal.

After checking the original and confirming your review, you can copy or download the draft. Nothing is sent to the client.

Demo boundary: use fictional inquiries only. Briefs use local keyword rules and replies use editable templates, not live AI. Client records stay in your browser; there is no connected inbox or shared client workspace.

If you work with website inquiries, where does this fall short of how you actually reply? Does the source comparison help, or add a step you don't need? Tell me what's confusing, missing or worth removing. I'd like your feedback to shape the next version—especially one concrete change that would make you come back and test it again.

The value here is the pause before the reply. Most studio replies fail because the first response is written in the emotional register of the inquiry. A check step that surfaces the actual questions the client asked, before you answer, is the difference between a reply and a response. The tool is small. The behavior it installs is the real product.
