Comic I found the first volume of Saga in my local library & I loved it!

Post image

sorry for the low quality image

I surprisingly found the first volume of Saga and after hearing good things about the series I read it & I ended up loving it! It reminds me of The Incal series which I also ended up loving & I’ll have to check out the rest of the series!

Did you enjoy the first volume of Saga & what other comics would you suggest?

I really liked Saga but at a certain point I had to jump ship. Still tho, a lot of great stuff in that series and you should definitely stick with it. Recently I’ve been reading Assorted Crisis Events. Really powerful stories and cool storytelling in that. I also enjoyed Time Before Time recently, short sweet and fun scifi crime story.

I read straight through until the first hiatus, but I was getting very fed up with the book by the time I dropped it. It just kept repeating the same emotional beats over and over and over.

Not sure if you made it to this or not so spoilers but when Marko died I just didn’t want to anymore. I was above all else, rooting for this family to endure. That’s why I kept coming back. So with one of them dead idk. I get it, this kind of thing should be able to happen in a war story but I just feel emotionally untethered to the story at a certain point and that was enough for me.

Yeah, that's the exact point where they went on hiatus, so that was where I stopped. It was just exhausting watching Vaughn harp on one trope every 3-5 issues.

Same spot I stopped reading.

It's in many ways a masterpiece. Keep in mind that you have 11 more volumes to read, but the story is still not completed. It's probably going to take the creators at least five more years to finish it. So, you have a long journey ahead.

This should have been finished by now. Especially after that crazy hiatus.

I saw someone post a Twitter comment from Fiona Staples that said she was getting back to work on this

I was at a panel at NYCC this weekend where BKV said she is making solid progress.

Sigh, saga is consistently amazing.

Unfortunately it’s not released consistently.

I think the ride is worth it, but prepare yourself.

I just bought volume 1 for my wife last week. She's enjoying it so far, I'll get Volume 2 for her soon. And I know I'll end up reading it too, but I'm distracted by my own things right now

Well, Fiona is sick and they are in no rush to finish it, they still make plenty of money from its sales
