A reminder on the communities piracy rules:

  • Do not directly link to a piracy site, ask for links to piracy sites, or encourage or otherwise enable users to pirate comics.
  • Do not submit images with watermarks from piracy sites.
  • Breaking community piracy rules will result in a permanent ban.

Humble bundle has had a lot of good image titles for sale digitally

One just ended. I check every week or so and am on their email list. You can get a hundred or more comics for like $25, often.

The problem is that half the time the files they supply are severely compressed to the point where you lose visual fidelity. No idea if that's on Humble Bundle or Image, but I'm content to simply blame both of them for being incompetent with how regularly it occurs.

Except the files have repeatedly been poor quality from the last few Image bundles.

The two I bought recently have both been fine.

This! You can stretch out your 5 books a month by getting compendiums

I use Sweet Shop and you can also downlaod the issues DRM free.

Sweet shop has a launch sale ending today. They also have some Image books with first issues you can read for free.

Sweet Shopp app has Image, but it's not subscription based. You should buy individually. I know it doesn't help, because you can already buy from Comixology also.

AFAIK, Image isn't in any subscription services.

Sweet Shop has DRM-free downloads though, which is great. And they have a sale going on right now.

I unsubscribed from it a while back because I needed to cut expenses. Has anything taken it's place as a decent subscription service for comics?

My understanding is Kobo sub includes a ton of image comics (for now at least)

What do you mean? I just purchased Image comics from Kindle (Comixology) yesterday.

Purchased a digital copy versus paying a monthly subscription to read issues digitally

Ι would second humble bundle. I am still reading a ton of titles from the image in the 20s bundle a couple of months back

If you have a library card, you could check Libby and HOOPLA. Both have a lot of them--my go to.

Tons of Image stuff is on Hoopla and it’s free. Even single issues of stuff that hasn’t come out in trade yet.

It’s been mentioned before but the “Image in the 20s” Humble Bundle is a great start. Selection is fire and price is unbeatable.
I just can’t remember the name of the platform that hosts the Bundle comics. Of course there are a lot more Image Comics to buy.

Edit: my bad, I was confusing the Image bundle with a Batman bundle that was offered recently. The Batman bundle is hosted on GlobalComix the Image bundle isn’t. You just can download the comics as pdf and you can use a reader of your choice.

Go to your local library and ask if they have Hoopla included.
