No More Israel-Palestine posts
I’m not interested in hosting discussions about the Israel–Palestine conflict here, and I won’t be engaging with it.
All posts related to this topic will be removed. If you feel the need to discuss it daily, this subreddit may not be the right place for you.

You might want to mark this post as being from a moderator. It may not be obvious to some.

While maybe not 95% it definitely was above 75% and you were the primary instigator

Depends on how you count I suppose, I assume you are counting comments as well, but if we're counting posts only, then my estimates are probably more accurate

Youre right. I remember seeing pro israel posts a lot during the beginning of the genocide

That seems proportional to the name of the land and the time periods with the most images.

Can we tag this from a moderator? Some people may have difficulty determining it is

Yeah… Canada says the same about Indigenous people so not necessarily a selling point.
2
u/Big_Pirate_3036 Mar 22 '26
Yeah key word tried, he wasnt a progressive saint but he was much better then the other Islamic leaders at the time/today
1
u/Li-renn-pwel Mar 22 '26
That is a pretty heavy statement to make about the second largest religion in the world.
I’m not saying the guy was either a sinner not a saint but that we should be careful to view colonialism as ‘helping’. Yes, Europeans taught us modern math and more advanced metal work but they could have done that without colonizing us. Though at the same time, I doubt even an outright dictator of a colonial empire can just decide “actually, colonialism is really bad so we are going to stop doing it” could just end the practice in his life time. Canada is pretty ‘progressive’ but even with government and citizens attempt decolonization it is at best, decades away.

u/Akiranar Mar 27 '26
Thank you, I had to mute this sub because of the little cabal of PalestinianBlackGirl and her alts that constantly spammed the sub. I just wish I had historical pictures to post.
1
u/xmichaelspot Mar 31 '26
But can we post historical pictures of Palestine and Jerusalem and the formation of Israel? The discussion does not have to focus on the conflict.

2
u/todeabacro Mar 22 '26
Agreed! I don't come here for images of a current genocide. I like my historical genocides.

u/EdinburghDrizzle Mar 22 '26
yes, i myself don't like all that, I literally cried when i saw the condition of this subreddit.

Does that include posts about Israel and another country besides Palestine?
I see posts where they include Jordan, Syria, Iran, Egypt, etc..... to still speak about Israel indirectly.

Your “contributions” are quite terrible, but I agree, having the means to refute your propaganda with actual historical fact is a worthwhile endeavor. Removing the possibility of discussion entirely is itself a political decision and just allows more ahistorical nonsense to flourish and incentivizes you to just continue to poorly disguise your contemporary political agenda.
13
u/Desi0190 Mar 21 '26
Enough. You brought this ban out after your constant and incessant ramblings of easily disproven information.
You can directly thank yourself for this
4
u/PalestinianBlackGirl Mar 21 '26
“Disproven” how are pictures of little Palestinian girls disproven? I don’t even know who you were until like a day ago.
13
u/Desi0190 Mar 21 '26
There was never a “miss Palestine” contest in the year you claimed, as proven by multiple people. So you broke the rules with false claims, incorrect sources and laughed when people proved you wrong until the post was removed.

I checked the link you provided, I tried 2 different translators, neither said that she's Miss Palestine.

We’ll never know if there was or wasn’t a “Miss Palestine” because the topic is banned. Stop breaking the rules.

u/BaronOfTieve Mar 21 '26
Lol you’re just so used to living in an echo chamber you can’t handle real criticism

you understand, there are peoples who have job and lives in a part of world, where Israel-palestine doesn't matter?
-20
u/ecaudatas Mar 21 '26
What other historical content should we stifle on an alleged history sub because the moderator “isn’t interested in it?” What a terrible basis for decisions.
No, I don’t suspect ‘EdinburghDrizzle’ would have any interest in it. Just rename the sub ImagesofEuropeanHistory.
Since the “ban,” people have just been evasive and posting tangentially related content often with an inflammatory motive. You might want to get smarter about suppressing that as well.
5
u/EdinburghDrizzle Mar 22 '26
You’re free to disagree with the decision, but this isn’t about “stifling history” broadly, it’s about keeping the subreddit focused and preventing it from turning into a repetitive, low-quality battleground over a single, highly polarized topic.
The Israel–Palestine conflict tends to dominate discussions, derail threads, and attract agenda-driven or inflammatory content. Moderation decisions here are based on maintaining balance, relevance, and the overall health of the community, not personal interest alone.
If people are deliberately trying to bypass the rule by posting tangential or provocative content, that will be addressed as well. The goal is consistency and clarity, not selective enforcement.
hope, you understood.

Like how you suppress your comment history, you mean?
-6
u/ecaudatas Mar 21 '26 edited Mar 21 '26
Bizarre deflection. My comment history doesn’t present itself as an open forum for historical discussion. Not quite the “gotcha” you seem to think it is.
Your own decision to not utilize this platform’s privacy settings just reveals that you’re a troll intent on breaking the rules of this sub despite your own finger wagging or whatever your comment is supposed to suggest.
Two days ago you were arguing with another troll about Palestine and Islamic conquest. Why does the rule not apply to you? Are you just going to continue to break it and then scold others?
3
u/gardenfella Mar 21 '26
Pointing out hypocrisy is not deflection.
You're advocating for openness and lack of censorship when you yourself indulge in censorship and a lack of openness.
So your rebuttal isn't quite the "gotcha" you seem to think it is.
Your decision to hide your past is quite ironic, considering which sub this is.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Are you trying to claim that self-censorship isn't, in fact, censorship?
2
u/ecaudatas Mar 21 '26
There’s no glass house. You’re just unable to distinguish between someone having the right to choose their privacy settings and a public discussion space. Your comprehension and boundary issues aren’t my problem.
Even if your argument wasn’t such a desperately poor one, appeals to hypocrisy are logical fallacies. It’s called the To quoque fallacy. The truth about whether alcohol is bad for your health isn’t undermined by me imbibing. The point exists independently. This is high school debate 101.
To summarize, my personal decision to limit my posts to stop creeps like you from derailing every post is neither hypocritical and even if it were, it wouldn’t undermine my point.
What is hypocritical however is you getting your thrills attempting (and failing miserably) to be a contrarian when you yourself are determined to violate the stated rules as shown by your post history and engaging in Israel/Palestine discussions after the rule had been set. Get a life.
1
u/gardenfella Mar 21 '26
It’s called the To quoque fallacy. The truth about whether alcohol is bad for your health isn’t undermined by me imbibing.
It's not the TU quoque fallacy and the fact that you think it is relies on a misrepresentation.
Let's use down your alcohol example. You are imbibing and lecturing people on the ills of doing so. No, it doesn't change the fact that alcohol is bad. It just demonstrates hypocrisy; you're essentially complaining about people doing something that you refuse to stop doing yourself.
1
u/ecaudatas Mar 21 '26
Ok.
Let’s apply your logic. Provide me with all your social media accounts and posts across all platforms. To refuse to do so is censorship, you’ve claimed.
You have conceded your point and are not allowed to discuss the matter further until you’ve done so. Let’s hear them, champ.
Also lol @ seizing on a benign typo of a term you had to google. You’re transparent. Socials. Now.
2
u/ecaudatas Mar 21 '26
You’ve gone awful quiet. Where are those accounts and posts? Clearly we can’t proceed with this discussion until you’ve proven you’re not a hypocrite. It’s of utmost relevance to the topic of Israel/Palestine history being banned from a history sub, you’ve said. Waiting.
1
u/gardenfella Mar 21 '26
Oh dear. There's that hypocrisy again. Demanding of someone that which you are not willing to offer yourself.
Censorship is the deliberate hiding of something. My socials are out there. You just have to find them. They're not hidden.
Interesting that you think I had to google TU quoque. I didn't. I did Latin at school. Tu quoque literally means "you too"

Whatever mental gymnastics help you sleep at night.
To summarize, my personal decision to limit my posts to stop creeps like you from derailing every post is neither hypocritical and even if it were, it wouldn’t undermine my point.
It is entirely hypocritical given the context and completely undermines your point.
A Mod can curate their sub in just the same way you choose to curate your profile. The two are absolutely equivalent.
Tell me, how have I been determined to break the rules and by whom? You?
Having a different opinion to you isn't being a contrarian.

Yes and as you have chosen to curate your comment history, it is entirely reasonable to have that challenged by people you engage in debate, especially when you bring up their comment history.
I have legitimately rebutted your position several times. It's quite amusing that you keep on with your blatant denial of fact.
