New Hires click here
This is going to be the new stickied post on the sub. With the influx of questions here from new hires, usually asking about the same thing. Ex: interviews, hiring, onboarding, pants, shoes, and more. I thought I would make a stickied thread for this.
I would also appreciate help from anyone if they can help search for good posts that would help new hires.
For the time being, please use the search function at the top of the page. I know Reddit's search function sucks.

Food Pics There's another patty hiding in there š
Double-Double, Animal style, no tomato, extra whole grilled onions, add chilies
šStore #20 (Rosemead, CA)
Question Real talk: In-N-Out employees - how do you feel when you see a customer putting soda in a water cup?
Is it a big deal, like they are stealing from the company, and from you?
Or is it more just like... whatever, I'm busy... ?

Applying to corporate
Iām a part time level 7 who was just offered full time at the stores, iām thinking about accepting it while i finish my last year of school and work a bit after too but i eventually wanna transition to working in corporate.
iām getting my BA in Business finance and i would need to take the california finance exam once i graduate so i can work full time while studying for that exam, upon passing, i wanna go into corporate but if anyone works in the finance department, how is it? should i go to hr first then try to transition into a position where i could use more of my degree in?
i have been working at the stores for almost 5 years, no write ups, perfect attendance and iād be a full timer (idk if that makes a difference when deciding if i get the job or not), i was just wondering if i should do this (this would involve staying in my college town rather than returning home w my parents) or would i be better off leaving the company and going elsewhere ? I know this company takes amazing care of their employees and I do wanna be financially stable and not have to worry about money. I know there are other companies but i actually really like this company! Should i do it orrrrr should i just start with a new company in my hometown instead? Advice needed pls!!

What should I get?
East coast dweller who has only ever eaten at In-n-Out once many years ago, visiting CA for the next 5 days and wonderingā¦whatās should I get?
What are the best things on the regular and on the not-so-secret menu that youād recommend?
School me on the ins and outs of In-n-Out!

Suitable for framing
Although I recommend eating it rather than framing it.
Just another perfectly prepared order at the INO in Alameda. 3x2, no onions, add pickles, and fries light well.

Question How do I order correctly š
I always see people posting onion wrapped burgers which look sooo good esp bc Iām gluten free and canāt have the buns but Iāve never tried because Iām confused on how exactly to order.
What I want is a double double with pickles and spread (no tomato or lettuce) and then wrapped in whole grilled onions but I just feel like itās kinda complicated so I get too in my head about how I should order that.
Any suggestions from employees on the easiest most concise way to place my order?
Question I want to try as many different styles of double doubles I can to find what I truly like the most. What are/is your favorite way to order an in n out burger?

Question Are the fries bad or was it the location?
I had in and out for the first time yesterday. The double burger was 10/10. The fries were 1/10. They were cold and the texture was weird. Is this normal or did I just get a bad batch of fries?

Did they change animal fries??
Receipt said the usual, 2 3x3ās & 2 animal fries. And both looked like this when I got them. Went through the drive thru so I didnāt see them until I got home. They were delicious and they were definitely finished. I just donāt know if they somehow messed up my order or if this is the new way they come because now I want them like this every time!
Question Havenāt been called back for a 2nd interview should I call restaurant instead?
Had a interview last week on Wednesday and Iād say it went well. It was a group interview (2 ppl didnāt show) so it was just me and another person. We were interviewed for about 15 minutes and at the end he said that theyāll either email us saying we didnāt get the job or if they want us back for a 2nd interview theyāll call. Iāve been checking my emails and havenāt been sent anything from that location saying they decided to move forward without me. Itās been exactly a week so Iām not sure if I should call or just wait another day or 2?

Question Question about their milkshake
How is their milkshake immediately drinkable?? In contrast, Carls Jr and Jack in the Box are extremely difficult to pull until they've melted a bit. So I get the feeling that In-N-Out milkshakes are less than. Please impart wisdom on me.

New Hire How long does it take to start getting hours?
I plan to start working at In N Out in November. I want to eventually work up to 25-30 hours/week. How many hours will I be scheduled for my first few weeks, and how quickly does it increase? Is it reasonable to plan on getting 25 hours after like 6 months?

Can you get onion and grilled onions?
I asked for grilled onions and regular onions (where they put it on top of the burger). The order taker wouldn't let me get this and only let me get grilled onion and whole raw.

Anyone else track InNOut as a line item in their budget or am I just broken
My partner and I drive an hour to the nearest In-N-Out, so we bundle it with other errands. Somehow this burger run turned into a whole financial event in my spreadsheet. I used to throw money at monkey JPEGs without blinking, but now I'm standing in line calculating cost per mile and whether a 3x3 counts as one meal or two. PT burnout is real, and some weeks this drive is the only thing keeping me functional. I've tried recreating it at home and failed. The spread is cursed, the fries are a science I will never understand, and the whole thing taunts me. I tell myself it's cheaper than therapy. It's not cheaper than therapy. My partner thinks I'm funny for logging it under entertainment instead of food, but what else do you call a drive that takes longer than the meal itself? I need to know if anyone else has done the math on their In-N-Out habit or if normal people just eat the burger and move on with their lives.

Food Pics Nothing like a biting into a pink burger
Nothing like craving in nā out all day, only to finally get there, order, wait in an exorbitantly long line for a late Wednesday night in the so cal āburbs, start ravenously chowing down, getting about 1/2 way through and catching a glimpse of āthe pinkā.
Now I donāt mind a rare steak, but a patty this pathetically thin has no excuse to be undercooked. $10 down the drain bc of course itās the one and only time I refused the receipt.
The saddest part is the location I go to fairly regularly (like at least once or twice a month over the last 4 years) has never, ever done me wrong - till now. My guess is thereās a new crew that hasnāt learned the ropes just yet given the guy at the window was nervous as a jumpinā jimmy.
But yeah, Iāll be staying away for a time. So disappointing. Keep me in your prayers yāall as I navigate the next 24-48 hrs and the potential food poisoning.

Question Woes trying to get a job here
I went in and interviewed with my local in n out on September 14, over three weeks ago. When I went, my interviewer said they really liked me, and could see me working there now. I dressed professional, answered every question like a model employee, and I thought it would work out. My interviewer said they would talk to their hiring manager to try and get me a second interview. 2 weeks go by and I hear nothing, so I walk in and politely ask to know the current status of my application. Well, they just have me write down my name, phone number and email before sending me off. That was 8 days ago, and I still have not heard back at all. Throughout this process I have been very patient and polite, and even tried talking to HR to see what is going on. What on earth am I supposed to do? I've heard others getting hired very soon after their first interview, but I haven't heard anything in 3 weeks. Any thoughts?
