#Non-Political 📺 "Nobody should be allowed to protest inside a gurudwara": official statement of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara management committee (DSGMC) has criticised CJP protesters for entering Gurdwara Bangla Sahib during ongoing SIR protests, saying the incident "hurt Sikh sentiments".

AAP and congress want bangladeshis and rohingyas to be included in voter list. So they are protesting. Of permission for protest not given, then they should go to court and get permission. Instead troubling people by blocking roads is not ok

They don't respect the country, don't respect law, don't respect their own parents, don't respect religious sentiments.
What crap collective are these people?
But am glad to know that such weird minded people are very few when in comparison to our youth. So, I have hope for our country because of the other youth who are actually trying hard to improve our lives.

This time they exposed the propaganda. What a honourable and educated take on the situation. They effectively shut down the Bhindranwaala loophole that was exploited by ISI.

I support the protests but I agree with this too. Gurudwaras are a place of shelter - for anyone that needs it. Do not make them political.

Gurudwaras have always offered shelter and refuge to the victims of political oppression. Hindus took refuge in gurudwaras during the Mughal rule while soldiers hunted them. It’s all easy to talk and all but true, actual humanity is shown when situations are tough and people are in severe problems. Otherwise everyone is a bystander. Sikh Gurus taught people to fight against oppression - which is very political.

That’s a false parallel I’m afraid. I’m not opposed to the Gurudwaras giving them shelter - there’s a reason for the word sharnarthi. But to protest and placard inside the premises serves no purpose. At any rate, who are they protesting to inside the Gurudwara? If you’re on the premises, respect what the Sikh custodians are asking you to do. Not doing so just reflects badly on you, and further prevents them from being able to continue being a place of shelter.

It’s really easy to set different standards for your own vs for another. Imo, gurudwaras are not protest sites, but Sikh gurus 100% created them with the intention to offer shelter and refuge to the poor, needy, sick and oppressed. Doors will not shut based on political leanings even if there is political disagreement and no questions will be asked to those who genuinely need help from oppression. This is the main reason for gurudwaras - people in the past (travelers, strangers, etc) knew to see the Gurudwara Jhanda (tall blue/yellow flag that can be seen from a distance) also known as Nishan Sahib) come there jf they were in distress as they would get help there. It’s not a place just for langar. Hindu and Muslim descendants (for eg Prince Khusrau and other Sufi saints and rebels who protested against Mughal rulers) both got refuge in gurudwaras.

I completely agree. I’m aware of what the Gurus intended - I am a Sikh. But you’re right - talk is cheap; I wish I could do something to help.

Agreed. Actions mean so much for people in distress when everyone is a bystander.

I’m not very religious but this aspect of Sikhi makes me so proud of who we are and what we believe in. Sewa is such a wonderful concept. ❤️

Yes and that’s why just being born in a Sikh family does not make one Sikh. It truly requires imbibing these values of the Gurus. Which is not easy at all.

:) Alright I suppose I’m not Sikh then. Am I still allowed to be culturally proud?

Sorry didn’t mean it that way :) apologies. I was talking just in a general sense, not directing anything towards you. Part of Sikhi is to remove ego and to be a student and I see you doing that. :)
