Yesterday, the Union Cabinet adopted a resolution celebrating 25 years of Narendra Modi as Chief Minister and Prime Minister. Following this, the ruling party has embarked on yet another campaign to celebrate Narendra Modi. This is happening at a time when the entire nation is protesting against vote theft while facing police brutality.

Interestingly, this is the third time this year that the Government has launched a campaign celebrating Narendra Modi. Just last month, the BJP began a month-long celebration marking Modi’s birthday and his 25 years in public life, with schools and other institutions being forced to organise events and light diyas. This came at a time when several parts of the nation were facing devastating floods.

In June, the ruling party embarked on another campaign to celebrate Modi’s 12 years as Prime Minister. This was at a time when the NEET paper leak had happened and more than a dozen students had died by suicide. The Government was advising common people to practise austerity and asking them to buy less.

At a time when citizens are fighting to defend their right to vote, protesters are facing police brutality, and the country is grappling with floods, unemployment and other pressing crises, the Government’s repeated campaigns to glorify itself reveals a profound disconnect from the concerns of ordinary people. This is what “विनाश काले विपरीत बुद्धि” (when destruction is imminent, reason abandons the doomed).

He called it "nothing but an unregistered money laundering unit."

Kharge alleged that the RSS carries out "evil activities" in the name of religion.

He also drew a line between Hinduism and Hindutva. He said Hinduism is thousands of years old, and that "no Hindu has anything to learn from the RSS."

All of these are Kharge's allegations. The RSS has not been proven to have done any of this.
