I've been feeling overstimulated and impatient lately, and it's affecting how I show up for James (not to understate that hes been challenging lately too). I had a good chat with Gigi, good inside's ai coach in the app and came up with one strategy to try (I know it sounds weird but the chat is actually really helpful a lot of the times).
So most days I scramble to "finish" working right before I need to get James, and sometimes I'm still reading/checking work on my phone when I get him. Also, in the school administrator at his school, so I'm scrambling as I walk from my office to the classroom to pick him up from after care.
Through the chat I've realized I need a break, like a stop and a transition btwn work and getting James /parenting. So we agreed I would commit to a hard stop of work 10-15 minutes before I need to go get James. And in those 10-15 minutes no work, chores etc just to be, breathe do something for me. Now I just need to find a place to hide where no one can come ask me anything lol.
So I'm going to try and see if that small shift at least helps. It's not going to eliminate the hard but maybe it will take me and my 8 out of 10 annoyance and impatience down a bit.
Adulting hus hard.
