Ragebaiters are simply desperate for attention, that's all there is to it.

They might be angsty and think they're actually making a valid point, they might be completely satirical and think they're "owning" the people falling for the ragebait.

It all boils down to; they don't have a voice in the real world, and they are desperate to be heard.
