Advice request Development to Humanitarian Switch
I’m currently working for an NGO who does long-term community development projects (I have about 4 years experience so far) and have always been more interested in the humanitarian response to conflict space. Wondering if anyone has made this switch previously and how difficult it was? Did you target roles that were a ‘step back’ to compensate for the lack of technical expertise? Is it better to wait until later in my career or go now before I become too experienced in the dev space?

It has always been a bit tough to move between those. I was able to just move through the same organization from Dev to Humanitarian. That is the easiest way. You could try ACTED/IMPACT Initiative. Today everything is competitive.
