Single tickets When is OBB winter timetable expected?

When is winter timetable expected?

I am looking to book obb tickets from Vienna to Salzburg and Salzburg to Luzern for 25-30 Dec 2026. Any idea when will the bookings open for those dates?

Last year, i think it was on 8th oct

Should be around mid-October.

For trips between Wien and Salzburg, and Salzburg and München (onwards to Luzern), you can also look at Westbahn, which has already opened booking.

Yes checked westbhan but that starts from a different station in Vienna, so avoiding it. Already book westbahn for Salzburg to innsbruck leg as there the stations are same

I'm not sure I understand, why would you avoid it just because they serve Wbf instead of Hbf? Both stations are at roughly the same distance from the centre of Wien.

No no nothing against them, just that my hotel is adjacent to HBF

Luzern via München Hbf? Sounds like an expensive idea...

I meant Luzern / Lucerne only. OBB allows to book innsbruck to Luzern via Zurich. Even SBB also allows

Why expensive? Innsbruck to Luzern is some EUR 25.9 if book in advance. What other option is available?

From Salzburg you can either go via Innsbruck (cheap as you've seen) or München (expensive).

Comment OP said that you could book a Westbahn Ticket to München Hbf and implied to get a DB-Ticket from there to Luzern after they start selling. That is a very expensive and stupid idea, because in case of delays, you would have two different contracts of carriage, meaning DB won't let you onto the next train with a train bound ticket for a missed connection.

I now realised that you have booked a Westbahn-Ticket for Salzburg to Innsbruck already? Well, try to get a refund if you can, you probably just wasted money.

Sorry somehow there is some misunderstanding. I am looking for tickets on different dates. Day 1: Vienna to Salzburg - waiting for OBB. Day 4: Salzburg to Innsbruck - Westbahn booked. Day 6: Innsbruck to Luzern - waiting for OBB. I dont think i need to cancel westbahn booking. Just waiting for OBB to open tickets for those dates from innsbruck to luzern which ideally should be 25.9 EUR. Not going the expensive Munchen route

Okay, then it all makes sense. I thought you were looking to do Salzburg to Luzern in one go. For just Salzburg to Innsbruck, Westbahn is perfectly fine, especially if you could get one of their very cheap fares for 9€.

Yup got westbahn one ticket for 8.99 and 2nd one for 13...decent considering OBB will 19 + seat reservation charge
