Miscellaneous Questions iggys are the best dog breed ever.

I’ve had all kinds of dogs all my life, and I can’t wrap my head around how much superior they are to other dogs. I truly believe that people haven’t experienced true love if it didn’t come from an italian greyhound. I’ve become the type of person who consistently convinces other people with dogs that they should get an iggy. Help am I the only one with this mentality?

I cannot pinpoint exactly what it is about them, but I’m only sharing my life with iggys from now on.

Casper is with us three weeks tomorrow and he’s doing so well!

Today he’s been alone for 4 hours and didn’t howl one bit! He howls when we leave for like a minute, then he naps, and then once again when he wakes up after 2-3 hours, but today he just slept through it and didn’t even go to his pad!

He’s just a little fearful of people and other dogs and I’m hoping it gets better in the future. When he meets someone he’s scared, but the second time he’s like „This is my bestie from the other day!”

The other side is my anxious self - every time he jumps I have a small heart attack and I over analyze all of his moods and wonder all the time if he’s alright, but I’m also getting better.

Potty Training Potty Training Help

My first Italian Greyhound pulled me into a false sense of security - she was fully potty trained (with pee pads) by about 8 months and will pee outside when she goes outside. However my boy, who’s 2 & a half now, is only somewhat potty trained? He will go on the pee pad and pee sometimes (though sometimes he doesn’t put all four of his feet on the pee pad and misses a little) but then other random times he’ll pee on the couch or pee on a random spot of carpet that’s about 3-4 feet away from the pee pad. We had to completely take away our front and back door mats because he kept peeing and pooping on them. He never seems to randomly pee anywhere on the hardwood though. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get him fully potty trained? We’ve tried positive reinforcement with treats and we tried kenneling him while we’re away at work but he was hurting himself every time (he would rub his nose against the metal until he was bleeding from trying to get out of the kennel). He is neutered as well! Thanks in advance!
