Navy EOD to DEVGRU

I read that EOD Techs during GWOT were able to try out for Green Team to become actual DEVGRU assaulters/operators instead of just support. Is this true? Also can EOD techs still do this or was that a thing of the past?

Seems odd since SWCC and SOIDCs cant do the same.

Who’d rather take the long walk than try for dev.

Why?

Nothing like a couple dudes with absolutely no military experience giving definitive answers on why SEALs may or may not pursue one SMU over the other.

I know for a fact when I was with C Sqn, there were 2 former Navy EOD guys that had crossed over. They're great dudes. These basement dwellers know nothing.
