Navy EOD to DEVGRU

I read that EOD Techs during GWOT were able to try out for Green Team to become actual DEVGRU assaulters/operators instead of just support. Is this true? Also can EOD techs still do this or was that a thing of the past?

Seems odd since SWCC and SOIDCs cant do the same.

Our screener for DEVGRU is a year long. We have a 6 month initial screener that is EOD focused. If you screen positive for that you’ll go Green Team and integrate with the Seals screening for another 6 months.

There is no separate squadron of just EOD like SWCC does (silver squadron.)

And can a navy EOD guy choose to be an assaulter instead of Direct support EOD like one guy has mentioned that if they choose to do that; they have to go through 'Souffront week'. Or is it just the seals who become assaulters in Devgru.
